“nice sunset cruise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2011

This was a very nice evening tour. We did this with our two teenage daughters and it was great. We saw several dolphins and enjoyed watching them jump out of the water. The crew was very nice and helpful.

“Beware!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2011

My husband and I thought it would be a good idea to take the sunset dolphin cruise while visiting Virginia Beach. We figured that even if we didn't see dolphins, it would be nice to be on a boat on the ocean at sunset. However, they failed to mention that the water was very rough until we had already started out on the cruise. I was 5 months pregnant and we have a 2 year old so if we had known this we would have not went. It would have been nice if they had warned us about how bumpy the trip would be before we had left. To me it was a little crowded on the boat also. We did see lots of dolphins however. Except my son who was so excited to see them, couldn't really see them because it was too hard to hold him and not fall over with each bump! To me it was not worth the money at all. May have been a better experience if it wasn't so bumpy. We actually couldn't wait for the boat ride to be over!

“Way too long”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2011

Went on the Dolphin tour April 23 at 2pm with a Groupon. The staff was friendly and seas were a little rough. At first the tour was great and we saw dozens of dolphins about twenty minutes after going out to see. Everyone was excited. Then it seems they just tried to fill the time by going everywhere around Virginia Beach and they no longer focused on dolphins. A little boy sitting next to my husband got sick which made other people sick (after seeing him puke over the rail). I was seasick and had to buy the motion sickness drug ($1). This surprised me because most cruise lines usually give that stuff for free. The tour should have been 45minutes-1 hour. We were out for almost two hours which was way too long. I read my book and then slept the last 30 minutes.

They also take a picture (4x6 or 5x7) when you board that they sell for $9. You have to get there 30 minutes before the cruise. Give yourself 2.5 hours for this activity.

Overall, it is a decent tour, just bring a book or something to do (especially for the kids).

“Lame Lame Oh My God It Was So Lame”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2011

We went on the "whale watching tour". We saw two seaguls. We saw the coast and some rough water. It was water that was really too rough to be out there, but they took us anyway. We saw some barges. They did like two announcements of facts about whales and they walked around carrying bottles of booze (captain Morgan in particular) probably for the bored people down below. It was such a waste of money and our time. Never again. SuckFest

“Recommended! (Ride the Rocket)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2010

We started our Virginia Beach trip with a ride on the Rudee Rocket and it was a lot of fun! The boat is fast and we saw many dolphins. The hosts are fun as well. The cost is $19/person (if you print the $2 off coupon on their website). They click a picture of you in the beginning which you can buy in the end. The Flipper is a slower version if you prefer the relaxing/cruise type of experience. Overall, it was a lot of fun and made a great start to out VA Beach trip!
