Description: It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play..." and it was almost thirty four years ago today when the bands began to play, right here at Abbey Road. Owner Bill Dillon has been bringing the best in great food and live entertainment to the residents and visitors of Tidewater since 1982. Our fresh seafood, beef, and pasta dishes are summed up by The Virginian Pilot's reviews: "Abbey Road Leads Diners to a Satisfying Evening (1983)" and "Abbey Road is a great pub in the midst of a tourist location. For locals it is well worth the trip any time of the year (2008)." Hampton Road's Port Folio Magazine says: "Abbey Road is the Best Acoustic Venue in Tidewater, offering the best and the most variety..." After three years in the food service industry Bill decided in the fall of 1982 to open his own restaurant in the resort area of Virginia Beach. Heavily influenced by the Beatles when growing up, thanks to his two older sisters who listened to their records all the time, he decided to name it 'Abbey Road' after the last album the Beatles recorded (although 'Let It Be' was the last released) before they split up in 1970 (thanks, Yoko). Many national, regional, and local musicians have performed at Abbey Road since 1982, including: Richie Havens - the man who opened Woodstock, Ronee Blakely - toured with Bob Dylan, Livingston Taylor - James' brother, The Ventures -theme from Hawaii Five-O, Rick Roberts of Firefall, - wrote & sang many of their #1 hits, Robert Hunter of The Grateful Dead, Robbin Thompson & The Robbin Thompson Band, Gove Scrivener, Lewis McGehee - toured with Bruce Hornsby, Lisa Noel, Mike Proffit & The Mike Proffitt Band, David Petretto, Keller Williams, Suzy & The Naturals, Catapult, T.K. Llegs, Acoustic Ceiling, Chuck 'Coyote' Larson & Robbie House & Norman Harrell of Snuff, and many, many more...

“Avoid this restaurant”

Service is HORRIBLE. Waitress didn't even offer my little dog a bowl of water. Food is mediocre. Had to stand at the door (ate on the patio) to wave down the waitress to get my check. Will NEVER go back.

“Go someplace else!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Pleny of parking - light night. Sat on patio with my little dog. Took far too long to receive food brought by a runner. Waitress never brought my little dog a bowl of water. Noticed restaurant wasnt packed as I stood in the doorway trying to flag down the waitress for my check! Food (flounder) catch of the day) was mediocre. Restaurant is not 100% smoke free. Typically tip 20%+ for dinner - my son waited tables in college. This waitress received zilch. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

“Get the bread pudding!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Cute little Beatles-themed place a short walk from the beach. The wraps were fresh and filling. The Jerk Portabella Sandwich was pleasantly spicy and infused with flavor. The bread pudding for dessert was the best. The waitress said it was Paula Deen's recipe so I'm sure it wasn't healthy, but boy was it tasty!

“Good food and entertainment”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Very decent menu, comfortable atmosphere, clean and affordable at the beach. Local live entertainment was decent also, just right for the atmosphere there. I enjoyed my two hours there

“Great staff good food”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Visited this restautant during our stay and enjoyed it very much. I ate the Jambalaya while others had the crab legs, both were good. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the drinks are great and reasonably priced. We ended up eating both lunch there as well. Try the spinach and crab dip if you go, it was very good.
