My husband and I just spent our 20th Anniversary in Va Beach and picked this hotel due to the good ratings it received. We were very pleased that we picked this hotel. The location was great and the staff (especially Nadia) was wonderful. They were very helpful with any questions we had. And Nadia even prepared us a gift bag for our Anniversary, it was very sweet. When we go back to Va Beach, I'm positive we will stay at Fairfield.

My wife and I stayed here from May 13th to the 17th. We had never been to Virginia Beach before and decided to trust the reviews and stay at the #1 ranked hotel on the beach. The reviews were right on. This hotel is clean. Has it's own parking garage. The balcony facing the ocean was awsome. We had the extended stay king suite, very nice sized room. The free breakfast every morning was a great start to the day. The staff, at the hotel, were the best. Keep up the good work.

We stayed here last year in April 2006 and had a great time, wonderful service, and terrific clean and spacious room. Booked for May 2007 and wondered if the staff could be as friendly, the complimentary breakfast as good.... It was! The staff was so polite and responsive. The room was as clean as last year, and the breakfast was as generous. A real bonus for staying at a beach hotel is to wake up, get good cereal, toast, eggs, milk, juice, etc., for free. Coffee was unlimited in the lobby 24/7 and I took them up on it at all hours. A nice touch is a free and easy internet-access computer and printer set up in the lobby. So when we wanted to alter our trip home, we just pulled up Mapquest and printed new directions out. Pool is small but the kids loved it. And everything (including the pool) faces the ocean so you always have a view. I'd stay here again and again. Best of all beach hotels we've been too, including Rehobeth and Bethany. This one is so much more for the money, and the cleanest of the bunch. You really wouldn't know it is a "beach hotel".

The Fairfield Inn and Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront provided the amenities I need and expect on a business trip: clean, quiet, and ample space in my room, including a work desk. A wireless hub was provided for a good broadband Internet connection.

The breakfast area was complimentary and included a wide range of choices, including fruit, yogurt, cereals, pre-packaged eggs, breakfast meats, juices and so on.

Friendly, responsive staff.

We recently went to Williamsburg for a wedding and decided to stay the weekend in VA Beach. Seeing that the hotel was rated #1 on TripAdvisor, we opted for this hotel over the Hilton. Also a bit cheaper ;-)

We were greeted very warmly at 3AM when we arrived after the wedding. The room was nice and large, large bathroom, but no amenities except a bar of soap. No biggie, we brought our own anyway. After crashing at 3:30, we were woken up by what seemed to be a herd of angry buffalo outside our door, at 8AM. Every door that was slammed for the next hour was heard in our room. Their doors there apparently do not close quietly unless you assure that it closes nicely. Just walking out the door and letting the door close on its own makes a very loud slam...and the rooms are definitely not soundproof.

So we are awake at 8:30, and looking outside we see a large group of cheerleaders, probably the cause of the commotion. We asked for another room on a different floor and were granted it.

The maid service was odd too. The first day, we had a knock on the door from the maid (no do not disturb sign) asking if we needed anything. No, just some shampoo would be nice I said and she supplied us with shampoo and extra towels. The next room we had a do not disturb sign and even though we left the hotel at 11:00 each day the room was still not made up. Really inconsequential, since I don't require fresh linens or towels every day. Still would have been nice.

The next morning, we were again awoken at 9:00 by the sound of a drill next door. I open the door to see a handyman fixing the door of the room next to us. I immediately call down to the front desk and after apologizing profusely for the noise they agreed to give us half off of our room stay. We were also given a small bag of goodies on our door handle.

That aside, the breakfast was extensive, with fresh fruit, pastries, waffles and pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it. The hotel itself is in great shape, very lovely and the staff will bend over backwards to help you.

There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but you are so centrally located that you can walk anywhere. All the rooms are oceanfront and have a nice balcony with two plastic chairs and a table. The beds are comfortable with loads of pillows and there is a pull out couch. Free high speed internet is definitely a plus as well, as the computer in the lobby was always occupied by some child surfing the internet or playing games.

All in all, our hotel stay was nice, just a few weird little tidbits. I would suggest that if you are looking for a nice romantic getaway that this is not the hotel for you due to the noise and the constant influx of children....even in the off season.
