We did not have a reservation, but they were able to seat us right when they opened as long as we could be finished within an hour and a half--which worked for us. I always like to try She-crab soup when I am at the beach and theirs was lovely. Just the right amount of crab (you could find it in every spoonful without searching,) not too spicy for me (I don't like it burning my throat,) but flavorful and perfectly creamy. It did not have a lot of sherry (if any,) but I like it that way. Wish I had gotten a bowl instead of a cup.
My partner loves crab dip (and I will always indulge.) The dip was tasty--bubbling hot from being baked, lots of crab, and a very mild flavor. The only disappointment was that the tortilla chips it came with were very stale. They also didn't seem to complement the flavor of the dip...maybe sliced baguette would really be a better complement for this flavor of dip. At least having crunchy, fresh chips would be better. *we didn't mention this to the server though.
I ordered the special--Tile fish with a cold crab salad on top. The tile fish was nothing spectacular, but it was absolutely fine. It was slightly overcooked, but I think that could be because it was a pretty flat fish. The overall taste of the fish with the crab salad and the rice pilaf was nice though.
My partner loved his scampi over rice.
