They have life size statues of navy personnel performing various duties on board a ship. Lots of stories of how they perform work on a ship. If you are interested in showing you kids what our navy sailors do, this is a good place to do it. Plus it is in a great location, plenty of places to eat nearby and at 24th street there is normally music or magic acts at the stage, normally every night during the tourist season.

This is an excellent memorial to stop and visit. The statues are excellently sculpted and it touches on so many facets of Naval aviation. The historical information is presented well and helps show the sacrifices and accomplishments of Naval aviators.

This is a beautiful tribute, but we couldn't get a lot of photos due to the homeless people sitting around many of the statues. Come on, Virginia Beach, get these people some help!

So many very special aspects here- really enjoyed the various scenes depicted in the Naval Aviation Monument. I am prior service (Army) and really appreciate seeing all branches of service honored. Rarely do you see a monument which includes families and this one reminds us of their sacrifices as well. If you have the opportunity to see it at night as I did, you'll notice (as my boyfriend pointed out to me) that the statues are illuminated from the bottom which allows you to see the beautiful details from the facial features of each statue all the way down to their boots or shoes. In the middle of the boardwalk and go-to spring break destination, I think it's a good reminder of why we're able to enjoy the freedom's associated with all things Virginia Beach, USA - A very beautiful tribute.
