“longest boardwalk on the East Coast but it's concrete not wooden!”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

Virginia Beach has the longest boardwalk on the East Coast. Myrtle Beach's is wooden but it's only a like 8 blocks long and not very appealing in my opinion.
Be sure to enjoy the scenery but beware in the summertime it is very crowded and don't be surprised if people bump into you, etc.
Also great outdoors cafes and restaurants are along the boardwalk.
Hotels are numerous with cheaper rates in the winter when you can get an oceanfront from for $45 and up and it's nice and quiet but there is not much going on in the wintertime but it's still fun and very peaceful.

Went bike riding down the strip which was just perfect for an early morning exercise. If you hotel offer free bikes, wake up early and go riding.

“Best part of the beach”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Nice stroll down the boardwalk beats walking on the beach. There is access to all types of attractions, not to mention the beach itself.

“Our kids loved this board walk.”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

This was a superb place, and was activity rich for all ages. We stayed on an awesome beachfront property Four Sails, with free bike hire. So we got on the bikes and did the whole boardwalk (including our 9 year old), with short stops along the way to take in the extensive views and history. It was refreshing to have a pod of dolphins go alongside us the whole way, and they were very close to the shore line. Previous blogs on this location are very accurate, and as advised by other bloggers the must do stops along the way are full of history. If you have small kids, a highly recommended stop on the boardwalk is at the southern end – JTs Grommet Island Beach Park.
