Traveled to VA Beach from NJ with friends just to see the Christmas lights on the boardwalk. They were great and being able to drive down the boardwalk was unique. Thoroughly enjoyed this and would like to bring grandchildren next year..

You have to supply your own date, significant other, spouse, etc, but the Boardwalk at Virginia Beach provides everything else. You can walk or ride a bike (on the bike path), stop at a hotel restaurant/lounge or access Atlantic Avenue shops and restaurants. You can exercise or leisurely stroll along at your own pace. You can walk out onto the beach anywhere along the 3 mile stretch or simply travel from one end to the other. Starting in November, Christmas lights are displayed, featuring animated scenes of all kinds. The most notable aspect of the Boardwalk may be the giant statue of King Neptune, guardian of the Beach. Be sure to stay for more than a day, so that you can enjoy the Boardwalk several times during your visit.

Awesome for walking, jogging or talking a bike ride. Has a seperate bike lane which is great. The best boardwalk I've seen and is roughly 2 to 3 miles in length.

People, Atmosphere, just everything! Go before Memorial Weekend and Go after Labor Day Weekend. The crowds are less and you can enjoy it more.

Not much different from other boardwalks. It's off-season, so it's relatively quiet and most of the eateries are closed. Good place to walk off a meal, or get the blood going first thing in the AM
