“Nice stop.”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

The people here make it a better place than most. The pizzas are unique and if the named pizzas aren't what you want, there is a long list of ingredients you can choose from. We had a party of nine and didn't think there was enough space for us but in just a minute the staff made a large table out of a few small ones. The server overcame a bunch of obstacles to serve us nicely and kept thanking us. My tip is to try the special for the day. It looks like they put more on it than the regular pizzas.

“Good Pizza”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Had lunch here before visiting the Maritime Aviation Museum. The pizza beats the chain restaurants (Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns) and other pizza joints we have tried in the area. Daily specials are available as is a variety of ice cream.

Will definitely visit again when in the area.

“Good, But over hyped”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We looked forward to dinner at Pungo Pizza on the last night of our vacation, but ultimately it was disappointing. The pizza just wasn't that good.

They promised the best pizza south of New York City. Having grown up near NYC and having lived in Naples, Italy, birthplace of pizza, the pizza at Pungo was acceptable.

During our vacation week in Sandbridge we went out of our way to try new places to eat, so Pungo Pizza promised us a chance for a great experience. Turns out it's not any better than most average pizza joints.

If you like your pizza Pizza Hut style, you'll love Pungo Pizza. But, if you've eaten NYC style pizza and maybe even gourmet pizzas in other places, Pungo Pizza is average - at best.

“Good Pizza”

Above average pizza for a southern state. Coming from the northeast good pizza is tough to find in the south. But this place is worth trying.

“Best pizza in Virginia Beach”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

Located not far from the Sandbridge Beach area. The place is clean and orderly. Nice screened outdoor seating and air-conditioned indoor seating. Great, light crust. Interesting specialty pizzas. Other stuff on the menu, too, including salads. Several ice cream varieties to top things off. Not cheap pizza, but worth the price. Substantial arcade in the back.
