Very special asset in Virginia Beach. Fun programs. Massage school and massage appointments available. Meditation room that overlooks the ocean. Gift shop. Tranquil small garden and fish pond behind building right off Atlantic Avenue. New age, kind of hippie vibe, with only the best of intentions. Positive thoughts and all things good. A place that adds character and color to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. A treasure, loved by many locals.

As others have said, it is mainly of interest to people interested in this sort of thing. It isn't a museum, and there isn't much to see. It's not very impressive, really. I knew about Edgar Cayce from seeing several documentaries about him, so we went because of that. The gift store/bookstore is ok, nothing that I haven't seen elsewhere. I guess if you want to do some research you can spend some time in the library and read up on him, but otherwise, there isn't much reason to come here unless you are a fan of Edgar Cayce, or are otherwise into those things.

Since the 1980's I have been fascinated with Edgar Cayce and his thousands of readings for people from all over the world. This simple man from Kentucky, a deeply rooted Southern Baptist and devout Christian began a series of readings and continued until his death. Today the association has grown through donations. Holistic in his approach and focused in natural healing including food, Mr. Cayce left a legacy that is still used today. This place is significant as a resource for research for the interested seeker. If you have ever had an illness that was not helped by modern medicine, it might be good to check the library here. Workshops and classes are presented, and the introduction to Edgar Cayce's work is captured on film. Many things are free to see. Two conferences a year (summer and end of year) go in depth about his philosophy. Even if you are not a believer, you will find much to learn here and the meditation/prayer area is spectacular! They also have a health wing to promote all aspects of natural healing.

This is a nice place to visit, even if you are skeptical about new age philosophy. Get a massage at the spa and check out the gift shop.

The Institue has classes throughout the year and a gift store that is mainly a book store. They also provide computer generated past life readings, astrological readings and some others, based on Casey's teachings. They have a room you can go to that is beautifully balanced, with subdued lighting, that you can spend tiime in to relax and meditate in, if you choose.
