I saw this in passing at the beach and it caught my eye enough to look it up. They have two locations in VB and we chose to check this one out. It was an unexpected opportunity that we were able to try this and a very similar novelty ice cream shop, Yard Milkshake Bar in the same month. I will compare the two at the end.

This place is very, very, pink. That along with their fancy, unique milkshakes and desserts is what make it stand out. It also has a bit of comfy chic to it as well. It appears they transformed an old 7-11 or Ez Mart into milkshake magic land.

They have various desserts, but the emphasis is on fancy, indulgent milkshakes with extra bling..aka desserts hanging on for dear life off the sides of the shake. An example might be a chocolate rimmed milkshake with whatever flavored iced cream, whipped cream and maybe a brownie or a few donut holes on top. Similar to Yard, it is one of those rare occasion type fun, but expensive summertime indulgences.

The taste was overall pretty good, however I did not like the brownie on mine. There was a lot of space to sit in and out. My only complaints are 1) nowhere to rinse the take home jar and it is simply too messy to just throw in a bag, in our opinions, so they got tossed and 2) no women's bathroom that I noticed. There were two restrooms for either sex. As a woman, I want a clearly designed for women bathroom unless there is only one like at a small gas station. What made that more odd and unattractive was the place screams pink and girl, yet girls weren't honored with their own restroom?? I realize some boys like pink and many look great in pink, but the place will most likely attract more girls and women than anything. There wasn't even a mirror in the bathroom.

Sweet Spot v Yard:

Sweet Spot absolutely steals the show for space. Yard feels like people being shoved in a sardine can whereas SS has about 10x more seating space or so it seemed with their several spaced out tables indoors and outside deck with at least 5 large seating areas plus two picnic tables nearby. SS steals the show if you are a pink person. The decor is unique, and the outside area was pretty chic with pink cushioned bench/booth style seating along with a few tables even having the little icy turn on fires...quite blingy! For a look that might appeal to more people and be more neutral without much flare at all, Yard, but again the seating is way too limited and thus unrelaxing.
Timing: Both were busy and took a while to get to us with about a 15-20 minute wait.
Taste: I only shared a shake at Yard, but would say the Yard shake and attached cupcake were better, however they were different flavors so who knows?
Quantity: We felt SS did not overuse the whipped cream in order to make it appear larger than what it really was like Yard seemed to do. We felt we got more shake with SS.
Artistry: both were great, but Yard had a slight edge
Expense: you will pay for the experience. SS however is more palatable as Yard charges roughly $3 more for almost the same thing, making it too expensive.
Cleanliness: I wouldn't call these types of shops an ideal first date experience. It is messy. Both places could be kept a bit cleaner. SS had nice looking pink cushioned booths, but with many stains making us feel a bit uncomfortable about what we might be wearing home. The overall experience is messy. It is hard not to get sticky food on your hands or have to catch part of the stuck-on desserts as they begin to fall off their mountains. However, Yard had the convenience of multiple rinsing sinks where you could clean your mason jar/glass and then bag it. SS is much bigger so they should consider this addition as they have space for it.

We did not expect to try two of these places out so close together, My husband and I agree that overall, they were fun and cool looking milkshake art if you will. However, the experiences were a bit too messy for us. I also have learned that I want my desserts separately vs all shoved together. Nevertheless, I'd recommend trying either or both at least once. We might go again to one, but it would be a rare visit due to expense and messiness. SS has the overall edge based on space to sit and fairer price point, but needs a normal women's restroom in their vast land of pink.
