“Good, but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

Very good but not the best I have had in Va Beach. Menu is full of Italian classics and some twists on favorites. Service was wonderful, food was good but for me and my wife it did not live up the expectations set in the reviews. Marinara sauce was a little salty and the veal dish I got was a little over done. Tiaramasu was much more amarretto flavored than anything else (no esspresso or coffee flavor). May try again, but for the $$ I may not.

“Excellent dinining experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

Excellent dining experience in a very relaxing setting. All the locals recommended it. Our amazement with the selection of menu choices from pastas to entrees. We found Shantel and Chrismia extremely hospitable and they made our experience delightful. Good value, excellent food, and reasonably priced wines. Worth leaving the tourist area and having a restful meal
without being rushed. Michael and Rosemary Albany NY

“Worthy of the #1 Rating”

This was our first trip to VA Beach, and our best meal of the trip. We went there because of the great reviews, and a friend's recommendation. The staff at our hotel had never heard of Mannino's, and when we returned from our meal we made sure they knew all about it to recommend to other guests.. The food was fabulous, and the service was outstanding. We had the Caprice Salad, the NY City Sidewalk Sausage & Pepper appetizer (a must-try), and the Spaghetti & Meatballs Parmigiana. Everything was homemade, including the house made fresh mozzarella, and the portions were good-sized. If we ever visit the area again, Mannino's will definitely be at the top of our list.

“Great food, excellent service--highly recommended!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

We dined outside on the patio, which we enjoyed. Our server Mari was great--friendly and attentive without hovering. We split a very tasty apple & gorgonzola salad ($9), with granny smith apples, delicious candied pecans and gorgonzola over baby field greens with a flavorful but light apricot vinaigrette dressing. (Our salad also came with four tomato wedges--not listed as an ingredient on the menu and not a good complement to the salad). My companion had pollo francese ($18), which he enjoyed; I had scampi fra diavolo at a seven heat level (scale of 1-10), which was delicious--five perfectly sautéed large shrimp served over fettuccine ($24). The complementary bread was addictive--served warm with oil and vinegar. I highly recommend Mannino's, and we'll definitely return.
