The food at Route 58 Deli is huge! Huge overstuffed sandwiches, huge side dishes, huge desserts, huge everything!
The sandwiches are advertised as being "overstuffed" and that is not an overstatement. There is probably enough meat and fillings in the sandwiches to make three regular sized sandwiches.
We went on a Sunday at about 11 a.m. and while it was very busy and not a lot of seating, we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. By the time we left there was a sizable line and a longer wait.
The wait staff all worked together and the service was excellent. The food was good but somewhat expensive. We had three adults and three kids. My daughter and I split a sandwich and a knish, my husband had a sandwich and fries and the three kids each had a hot dog and chips. We had four soft drinks and a water. My daughter also got a slice of cheesecake to go. Our bill was $86. Even though you get a lot of food, that is way too much for a deli lunch in my opinion.
