“cafe with a great view”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

this café has a great view right at the boardwalk and at a nice hotel
it is nice for drinks but the food was expensive and average
I paid 10 dollars for some chicken tenders that were smaller than mcnuggets and were not that good...

“Tortugas OBC”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

The bar and bar tenders are great and the food is what I consider typical for a beach bar - the pool service was pretty poor...I think the staff was reduced to one person after Labor Day so if you placed an order it was probable that you would have to go searching for your food after waiting an inordinate period of time.

“Overpriced drinks, below average food.”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We paid $17 for a below average (size and taste) Manhattan. When we complained, they said they were cutting us a break by charging for two shots not three! The last time I paid $17 for a Manhattan, was in Manhattan. NY prices in Virginia Beach? That wasn't the worse part, we got food to go...and it was small portioned and very average taste. $6 for a handful of tater tots?? $8 for a handful of chips and a scoop of crab dip?? Get serious Tortogas!! There is ONLY one positive with this place...great atmosphere. As one reviewer stated, "too bad you can't eat atmosphere".

“Average food- good atmosphere”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We had dinner here- 2 adults and 4 kids. The food was average at best. The outdoor, beach side seating was the best part by far. Drinks overpriced and watered down. Service was slow but they were busy.

“Too bad you can't eat atmosphere!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Last night of vacation went here for drinks and dinner/snacks since it was on the boardwalk and we could sit by the ocean. Ended up leaving there hungry and frustrated after numerous menu items were absolutely horrible! Crab dip was so fishy we couldn't eat more than one bite- brought us out a comp jarred salsa and stale chips to try to compensate us. Ended up getting a frozen patty hamburger with a hardened, stale bun followed by over breaded previously frozen boneless chicken wings. We tried ordering the cheese plate but it never came (we weren't charged for it). I think with so many other restaurant/bar choices nearby that offer fresh food, this would not be a good choice if you are hungry. The drinks are fine if that's all you are looking for. A disappointment!
