My family is visiting Virginia Beach and stopped by Yukai for dinner on Christmas Eve. The place was very busy, which was a pleasant surprise. Our favorite Japanese buffet is Itchi-Umi in New York City so expectations were high.
*Sushi was very fresh and tasty.
* The cooked food seemed to be a mix of Japanese and Chinese. My kids loved it. The whole fish was excellent though over seasoned.
*Deserts were a hit with all. Frozen yogurt, cakes, cookies and pudding.
* Mongolian grill was fresh, well cooked and seasoned. The line moves quickly.
Not so good news:
*The rolls were fair to tasteless. Very heavy on the sauces and fillers (cucumber, avocado) and light on the fish.
* The "American" food was mediocre and sat under the lights for a long time. Avoid it.
I would repeat but not too often.
