Great place for kids (touch pool and other hands on) and adults. Two buildings with a short stroll between them.

“Best inVa.Beach”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is one place you can not visit enough. there are alway new and exciting things to see at the Virginia Aquarium&Marine Science Center. And more is always being added. There is no target age group for this place it is an enjoyable experience for every member of the family. There are out doors experiences as well as indoor fun to be had, which is very accommodating for our Va. Beach weather which goes from perfectly delightful to extremely hot and humid.

“Fabulous shark tank”
Reviewed November 25, 2013 via mobile

We visited the aquarium during September as a family of four. The parking was ample and the reception area well staffed for the large number of visitors.

Although not a huge aquarium, the range of animals (not just aquatic) is quite impressive. The butterfly enclosure as you enter is very nice with a very natural feel to it.

There is a great flow to the layout culminating in the shark tank with a very large viewing area. You could sit for hours watching the fish but if you have young children the touch-tanks are a must, followed by the Komodo Dragon enclosure.

A very good day out, particularly when it's really hot outside.

“Learn and Enjoy Sea Life Like Never Before”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The VAMSC is a great place to take the family, no matter the age. The displays of live sea life are well presented. You can spend a lot of quality time just watching the fish swim.
The I-Max productions are always spectacular. The gift shop has unique items and the cafe has good food. Once you've been, you'll want to come back. Enjoy.

“Popular Virginia Beach Attraction”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The aquarium is a favorite of visitors to Virginia Beach, especially those with small children. There are many hands-on exhibits, a decent food court, and an IMax movie theater. Parking can be a challenge during the tourist season. The facility has two sections with a walking path between and parking at both sites. One section has a focus on the marsh area with a number of interesting exhibits, and the other is the ocean area with most of the hands-on exhibits that children really enjoy.
