“pretty damn good but a bit pricey”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

A fun, crowdy atmosphere. Efficient service and decent food. I've had the fried oyster dinner there three times lately and it was consistently excellent if a little skimpy on the plate. Enough oysters but where's the bread? Where's the choice of potatoe? You get a small salad starter and then one side dish. Isn't life tough enough these days without encountering such miserliness in restaurants? I will go again but I wish they'd give a little more.

“Excellent Seafood! Excellent Service!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

With our daughter's family in tow, we decided to try the Lucky Oyster. Since the 2,5 & 7 year olds were hungry, we asked our waitress for a quick appetizer. She recommended the Calamari & left immediately to put in our order, returning at once to fill our drink order.
She returned very shortly with the Calamari (which were the best I've ever eaten) and took our order. More drinks for the kids & our orders appeared.
Seafood combination of three for me (had to bring one home) a Heinz 57 burger for the son in law, fish & chips, broccoli & sweet potato fries for the kids (they shared sides) blackend Mahi quesaladia for the wife and daughter had the fish tacos.
We were each more than pleased with our selections. VERY good food!
Our waitress checked back more than four times in an unobtrusive way to see if we needed anything else. Excellent service!
My crab cake had some filling, but it just served to highlight how many large chunks of crab were in there. The cole slaw was different in a good way which means we will be returning.
This restaurant has now replaced Captain George's as our signature eating out place for our yearly vacation here at Virginia Beach.
The total for the seven of us including one draft beer was $111—half the price of the captain.
The décor fascinated the kids too!

“Excellent meal!”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

If you go to Virginia Beach for a vacation, make sure to try this restaurant. It's just 5 miles outside of Virginia Beach after crossing Rudee's Inlet. It's well worth it. The place is really decorated in a cool way - a bunch of fishing gear and items. You feel like your on a fishing boat. The food was excellent! My husband and I first tried the crab dip. There are so many places in Virginia Beach that crab dip that tastes more like just the cream cheese; Lucky's crab dip tasted like crab from the first bite and was served with pretzel bread. Very good. We then had the fried oyster dinner and also snow crab legs. The dinner portion was plentiful. The oysters were prepared perfectly and very tasty. The crab legs were cooked perfectly as well. Excellent meal, great value, and really fun atomsphere. Will definitely be on our list or restaurants to go back to every time we vacation in Virginia Beach. Awesome!
