We were in VB for a short weekend stay and was able to use a timeshare exchange. Our room had a king bed a full kitchen and a second sitting room with pullout sofa eating table and second tv. Room was dark and quiet at night even being on the street. From the Balcony one could see the ocean over the watermans restauant across the street. Free Parking was plentiful. Rooms were clean and comfy for us. Location for us also great. Chix, Mahi Mahi and watermans all across the street had the best seafood and a bit of entertainment. Great find cool location, we will return.. We checked out late for a fee but nice to get that last beach day in.

We stayed at this hotel/timeshare the week after Labor Day. The resort is directly across the street from the ocean. The unit itself is very small and there is only one window in the one bedroom and living room. Unfortunately, that window cannot be opened to enjoy some fresh air. The kitchen is extremely narrow. Two people cannot pass each other without going sideways. Otherwise, the unit is very clean. Everyone here is friendly and try to accomodate their guests. There is a small indoor pool with jaccuzzi. The resort is located toward the end of the boardwalk near Rudee's Inlet and is in a quiter area. Most of the things you can walk to.

Our stay here was great because the weather was perfection - sunny with low humidity daily. Could not wish for better weather. There are lots of good restaurants around. Virginia Beach's boardwalk (cement walk) is wide and 3 miles long. Everything along the boardwalk is well taken care of with beautiful flowers and benches to rest on. There is a separate cement bike trail. I think its the nicest boardwalk we've ever been on.

Room Tip: There are balcony rooms, but they were $50 extra per day. Too much for our wallet.

Thank you for your recent stay with us. We know you have choices in where you stay in Virginia Beach so we certainly thank you for choosing Ocean Key Resort. Our team enjoys what they do and work very hard to accommodate all guests. We look forward to your next visit.

The staff was in the parking garage to check us in without us having to get out of the car. It's on Atlantic & 5th street within walking distance to Rudee's Inlet where you can do a dolphin tour boat ride, rent a jet ski, or go parasailing.Maura, Front Desk Supervisor, turned our already pleasant stay into an exciting vacation before we even knew we had a problem. Ten minutes after getting in the unit/unpacking groceries, maintenance informed Maura of a problem with our shower. She upgraded us to an ocean front balcony unit without any problems & sent someone up to the unit to help us move. The 9th floor ocean view was absolutely breathe taking. Both units were clean, bed/linen was plush/comfortable, and kitchenette was well stocked with necessities plus a convection/microwave to bake food. The units were a little small but ok for 2 adults/2 kids. With the beach directly across the street & resort activities, you won't spend much time in the unit anyway. Aside from that, maintenance, furnishings, restaurant was great. The pool was average. It is all 4 feet...our 9-yr-old son was hoping for a deeper pool. This was a very clean & well maintained resort that's only a few steps from the beach...directly across the street. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Lorenzo, Maintenance Manager, was always smiling/pleasant and on-site (morning & evening) to immediately address any issues or simply to help change-out linen. The complimentary resort activities were fun & inviting (family movie night, air hockey tournament, dinner at Panera Bread, etc). Although we didn't take advantage of this option, but you can also participate in the free parking/activites at the other VSA Resorts during your stay (Ocean Sands & Atrium) if you want to go to the more central point of VA Beach ~20th street.

Room Tip: 1BR is very small but managed with 2 adults & 2 9-yr-olds. If you can secure an ocean view room on a high floor, do it. Resort is directly across from Waterman's which can be noisy late weekend nights. The lower floors will get more noise than the higher ones as the bedroom is just off balcony.

Overall a very nice day at the resort. The resort is clean, the staff is helpful and it is a good location at the south end of the beach. The rooms are small, we had a one bedroom with two adults and one child and it would've been tough to have more than that in the room. Not all the rooms have balconys. Ours did not, but did have a side view of the ocean.

Although there is no housekeeping there is a daily towel exchange on the fourth floor which is very nice.

There is a bus trolley that runs the entire length of the strip for two dollars it is good to travel anywhere you want to from 10 AM until 2 AM the next day.

The resort is located across the street from the beach, but is only a very short want to get to the boardwalk and the beach. Lots of good restaurants close by and this is the end of the beach for surfing. My daughter surfs in their designated areas to surf at this end of the beach.

We had two small items required maintenance and they were responded to very timely by friendly staff. Both issues resolved.

There is an indoor pool which is nice and on-site pizza restaurant.

The biggest negative is the experience we had with the timeshare presentation staff. We received a phone call on Tuesday afternoon asking if we would like to sit through a one hour presentation to explain the benefits of membership. I told the caller that we had already sat through one of these presentations a year ago (at this resort when we stayed at the sister resort) but she assured us that this was different and only an hour in length and explained the benefits of RCI and how to enhance our usage.

We agreed to the presentation at 4 PM the next day and make sure it was only an hour as we had a 12-year-old that would be sitting in the room by herself during this time. When we arrived at the lobby we were greeted with a "what do you want?" I explain that they had called us and asked us to attend a presentation that we did not merely show up.

We were then handed off to a sales person named Summer who was immediately irritated that we had showed up in our bathing suits as we just came from the beach. She asked why we were there as we had already been through a presentation year ago as I had instructed her. We explained that we were told it was a different presentation and was to enhance our RCI membership. She then indicated the presentation would be an hour and 30 minutes and there was nothing that she could do about it and it was a full presentation regardless of what we've been told on the phone. Again, remember we did not request to go on this we were called and asked to do so.

.When we question this she consulted with her manager, Heath, who said regardless of what we have been told the presentation is an hour and a half and there's nothing he could do. I again explained that we had a 12-year-old said it in the room and we were told that this was merely a brief presentation not a full time share presentation.

We left without so much as an apology for having us leave a beautiful day at the beach, hauled all of our stuff, surfboards, chairs to come attend something that they has called to have us attend!

We brought this to the attention of the hotel manager, and he was very understanding and apologize for the behavior and the misunderstanding. He later called and offered for us to "reschedule" to do this again? No thanks.

Having own a timeshare for 10 years I have set through numerous presentations during that period of time. I have never interacted with such a rude and condescending timeshare salesperson. I would think they have a lot to learn about how to interact with customers, customer service and how to properly maintain a business customer relationship.

Overall, it is a nice resort in a greatlocation and it is truly unfortunate that the resort is associated with such a disorganized, and unprofessional sales force. I think that those that call to set up these "meetings" should be on the same page as the sales group and the sales group should be a little less abrasive in thier interactions.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I apologize that your experience with our sales team was not a positive one as it did not meet my expectations either. I hope you will give us another opportunity in the future.
