Where to start? Steve & Marie Louise treat guests like family- making you feel at home right away, but are completely unobtrusive. If it's the beach you're after- just bring your swimsuit, they provide everything else, from plush beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards to sunscreen.
If you are a reader- you will be in heaven- they have an extensive collection of books available to read- on every subject under the sun- lots of history, which I love, including the history of Va. Beach. There are also paperback best sellers that if you get hooked on and don't finish they'll say "take it with you!"
The cottage is one of the oldest existing homes in the region and has a rich history. The old wood floors gleam and the whole place is spotless. There are rich antiques everywhere, but not the kind you are afraid to sit in. The huge wraparound porches (one upstairs, one down) invite you to sit in comfortable rockers amidst Boston Ferns.
The bedrooms are beautiful, the linens top quality- if you don't sleep like a baby- check your caffeine intake.
Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented.
There is a convenient Butler's Pantry with fridge stocked with soft drinks and spring water, also a basket of snacks and one with toiletries just in case you forgot something.
It's not a matter of if I go back, it's when and next time I'll stay longer.
