“You really get what you pay for!”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

We have stayed here twice. Once in A307 and once in B420. A307 was oceanfront and we loved it. Everything was great. But when we came back we decided to save some money and we went for B420 which has a courtyard/pool view. The savings was indeed nice, but overall I found that for us, ok... me!... I really need that ocean view. It turns out my little was was sick much of the week requiring one of us to be inside. It was excruciating! If I'd been able to sit on the deck at A307 and look at the ocean, I'd have been fine. In our case I was feeling deprived being so close but not being able to see it!

That said, you get what you pay for and if a view is important to you... well... pay more! The beach is fantastic. We just love it there. It's huge! It can get a little crowded right in front of the resort, but you don't have to wander too far north or south to get a quiet spot. My kids always meet buddies they play with, and they enjoy the playground next door. We even went fishing on the pier next door.

We love this spot because it's so private, and regardless of your view and price-point, you get a full kitchen which can save a lot of money on a vacation. But when you do want to go out, good restaurants aren't all THAT far away! You won't be able to walk to much, but if you drive 10 minutes to 30 minutes you'll have plenty!

We also love the fighter jets that fly over all the time. Very exciting! All in all, Sandbridge is one of our family's favorite spots.

We were a group of 8 (2 children, 6 adults) and this resort offered everything for the family. Our unit was great and the resort is very well kept. Our complaints however, is that while it claims to offer free wi-fi throughout the hotel, it is actually difficult to log on from the units. Also, there is not great cell phone reception. Also, there are many grills onsite but many of them dont work!! Lastly. the hot tub is only open in fall-winter--it still would be nice to use during summer nights!

We stayed at this condo complex August 13-20, 2011. We were pleasantly surprised by the Sanctuary Resort. Our unit (A311) was beautifully and comfortably furnished and had more than ample room for my husband, myself our two children and their grandparents. In addition to the televisions, vcrs, and the like, there were many books in our unit and I enjoyed reading two of them during my stay. The kitchen is a great size, with a large pantry and everything we needed to prepare meals and warm up leftovers. In fact we were so comfortable we seldom went to the area restaurants. The master bedroom and bath are a good size, the shower had plenty of power and we had ample room in the walk in closet for all of our things. The guest room is smaller but there is a full bath as well on that side as well as the washer and dryer. There is one small deck outside of the master bedroom and living room. I did not consider this deck to be dirty or full of spiders, just a normal outside deck.

Outside, the pools are beautiful and refreshing without being cold and the pool decks never too crowed. We could always get a chair.

The only negative that I could say about this area is that we would have loved to have use of the hot tub during our stay. We were told that the hot tubs are only open in the winter months when the pools are closed. For the amout of money we are paying in rental, care and upkeep of a hot tub in the summer would be nominal and to not have that did not seem appropriate. Because this is such a wonderfully maintained property, this alone would not deter us from coming back but it should be looked at.

As a guest at The Sanctuary you are given swiper cards for each outside door and for the elevators. This condo complex does give a sense that you are safe and secure.

Check in was extremely easy and very quick. The entire process took less than 5 minutes. We were at the desk at 3:00 and by 3:15, we were moving into our unit.

Our unit came with a beach storage locker that was not advertised on the site for this unit but was a nice surprise. We were short two chairs for my in laws but we found some in the storage unit along with a beach umbrella, a skim board and many other beach toys. We enjoyed the use of everything and left a few things for the next renter/owner to use.

We grilled out at the grills several times. The grill area was clean and not crowded. The fitness room is clean and well appointed and they even have a small game room and lending library that I took advantage of. The swim up bar was open. We enjoyed smoothies and drinks as well as a meal at the grill restaurant on the other side. This was a nice feature and we were happy to take advantage of it. The beach was beautiful the water perfect, waves were great fun for boogie boarding and surf lessons are available on this beach. One day the jelly fish came in and my daughter along with many other people were stung. This cleared the water quickly but the kids all had fun caching jelly fish in their buckets. By the next morning the jelly fish were completely gone and everyone was back in the water. We saw dolphins on many mornings and enjoyed many long walks on the beautiful beach.

Also as a side note the sand can get very hot on a hot day. One man was taken to the hosptial in an ambulance for burns on his feet, and my father in law did get a bad burn on the bottoms of his feet as well. Wear sandles/flip flops on the beach.

We were looking for a relaxing low activity, low stress very family oriented vacation in a beautiful setting and we found it at the Sanctuary Resort. After a vacation I rarely want to return to an area or a resort because I like to try new ones, but I can easily see returning to this resort each summer and we would request this same unit as well. When you have everything you need in one place why leave it?

We just came back from a lovely week at The Sanctuary at Sandbridge Beach. We arrived a little early but were able to use the pool and beach. Check in was fine and right on time. Our condo, #A317 was beautiful and very spacious for 4 parents and our 6 children in their 20's. The kitchen could use a few more pots & pans, some tupperware type containers and things like that, but we managed. I will say regarding the towels that we were given one towel per person and they were a bit skimpy for larger than average people. We bought some at Target - I'd suggest bringing your own. The key situation at times was inconvenient. . .we were 10 people with 4 keys, however a key is needed to get in stairways, elevators, etc. Sometimes very frustrating. 317 is a corner unit and we had a lovely wraparound balcony with a view of the bay and ocean. Beautiful for sunsets and some awesome lightning shows. But I would agree as others mentioned that the balconies could be cleaned a bit better. It was mentioned before that this unit had a garbage smell as it's above the dumpsters, but it was in the 90's all week and we sat outside everynight. . .no smell! The supermarket and other stores are about a 15 min. drive, not bad at all. We ate across the street one night at Baja - food was good / fine / average, however, be warned there is no a/c! We would recommend The Sanctuary and this lovely unit.

We booked 2 condos for 12 members of our family. They were absolutely beautiful. They contained everything as posted in the website for the site. Our main complaint has to be that the management of the facility showed very little concern about safety matters. None of the grills lighting mechanisms worked. The gas came through but there was no spark to light them. We sought help from gentlemen in uniforms who used a lighter to light a newspaper and when put near the grill caused a fire burst which burned the arm of one of our family members. They then left. When management was told about the incident they showed no concern at all. They admitted knowing about the problem but there was no warning sign. Even after being told about the accident, they did not act. Meanwhile, they were right there making sure no one had a beverage at the pool. This demonstrates a poor sense of priorities and a lack of concern for safety of the guests. This was very disappointing and would be discouraging to potential buyers of the available condos. Other than this, I would recommend the resort. The beach was very private and at least 15 minutes from the shopping areas which I liked. The Baja, across the street, had excellent food at reasonable prices. Dolphins swam by almost daily. This spot is paradise!

We stayed in a wonderful ocean front condo. OK..the beds were a bit hard...but it wasn't a big problem. The sound of he ocean in our ears helped us fall asleep quickly. The condo was clean, well equipped (needed only a can operner), and very, very clean, and had great electronics and furniture. It was beautifully decorated.. Everything worked except one overhead fan and one call to maintenance brought an amazingly quck response and a wonderful man named "Ralph" showed us how to operate it. Then, to make things even better, he cleaned all the bugs off the deck washed down the area. The bugs never came back for the week of our stay. Management was courteous for the most part. I imagine with all of us needing them at one time or another they might have seemed a but stressed at times...but they always came through and we were treated well. One complaint only. We had to find new places to park each time we left because our parking spot would not accomadate our mini-van. Also, someone had discourteously plunked their car carrier over the line and we couldn't exit our vehicle. Management told us to find another spot and we had to keep changing as noted above. Still, it didn't detract from our stay. Anyone who can should go Sanctuary Resort, meet Ralph! You'll love him and he will take care of any problem you hae promptly...and we mean promptly!!! The girls in the office will do their best to make eeryone happy!!! We hope to go back!!!

We stayed here the week of July 4th. Check in is 4:30pm and we arrived about 4:00pm. Staff was great and made us feel very welcome. The resort reminds me ver much of Disney's Beach Club resort. If the Beach Club is a 10, the I would rate this place a 6 or 7. The biggest difference was the upkeep which Disney is well known for. The biggest disappointment of the week was that the kids pool was often closed for cleaning. The facility is nicely maintained and we do plan on coming back next year. The middle pool has a swim up bar and the food was very good. You also have great access to the beach here and because of the pools, there are lots of kids which is why we chose this place. Overall, a nice stay and we are going to return. While the kids pool was closed, the other two were open.
