My boyfriend and I decided to go to Virgina Beach for the 4th of July at the very last minute (2 days before). All of the hotels on the beachfront were either sold out or way too overpriced. We decided to Priceline it and see what we ended up with using the bidding system. When we ended up with Founders Inn, I was pretty happy. I had been to a wedding here last year and thought that the hotel was beautiful. At the very least I was expecting a clean room and decent service.
I was somewhat impressed with the accommodations at the Founders Inn. When we checked in after a long sandy day at the beach, we were given a complimentary upgrade from the basic room to a king room with a fireplace (not that we needed the warmth in July). The room was spacious. The patriotic country decor (which I thought I would hate) was an interesting touch and coincidently very appropriate for staying for the holiday weekend. The grounds were beautiful. But, most of all, the beds were HEAVENLY. After splashing around, walking, and drinking on the beach, the beds were the perfect end to a very fun trip.
I would certainly recommend, especially if you are able to get this hotel on a deal! The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly.More
