I stayed at many hotels and so far to date this has to be the worse one yet. Older Hotel that is in need of some serious upgrading. The furniture is old and badly stained. Our room had a terrible stench, staff was unable to provide any type of room freshener. Large visible stains in chair, not only in my room but in the common areas as well. My husband killed to spiders that jumped out of the air conditioning unit. Hallway was poorly lit. One section had black carpeting with noticeable debri that remained there for 2 days. Trash was left under bed.

Room tip: I highly doubt there is a good room on this property

Making sure our guests receive the highest level of cleanliness and service from check-in to check-out is important to us. We're repeat guests at this property and our past visit was our 7th visit. My favorite thing about it is it's in a residential part of the city and away from the hustle of the resort. Plenty of choices of accommodations and we've stayed in each at one time or another.

Thank you for coming back to see us again! Our oceanfront location is a fantastic reason to stay with us in Virginia Beach any time of year! Guests enjoy our semi-private beach access and the quieter atmosphere of our North End location along with the variety of hotel amenities that we offer. As you know, we have an onsite restaurant, fitness room and two pools just to mention a few. We loved having you here with us and hope you will be back to stay with us again soon. Every staff member was very professional and had smiles on their faces. The food and beverage was excellent. We try to come every year as we enjoy our visits so much and this year was awesome too, We plan on repeating our visits yearly. Our room was my favorite and we try to get it each stay

Facility is filthy. Bathroom, room, leaking ceiling in halls, FLIES everywhere! Did not receive housekeeping until 630pm after calling multiple times. They will close the restaurant if they have call offs, don't count on it! We had no cable for 2 nights. Never offered anything to accommodate for any concerns/complaints! Offered sandwiches when restaurant closed and the staff sat them on the floor! Had to listen to a barking dog for hours 2 nights in a row! Customer service was not helpful or interested in listening or resolving my concerns either!

I swear they save the crappy rooms for people who get discounted prices. I did a blind hotel purchase (get this price and will be one these 5 hotels but we won't tell you which until you purchase) on Priceline and was pleased with paying $151/night at Wyndham. Wyndham doesn't have a bad name! Well, my opinion of them has changed drastically. There are 2 buildings, one 5-story older rundown building and one 17- or 18-story renovated, updated building. We were put in Room 121 in the 5-story building. First off, the sensor door to open in the hallway was not key operated, anyone could walk in and it was falling off the track so it made a RACKET every time someone came in or out. Second, ground floor = higher risk of bugs. In the 2 nights we stayed in this room, there were several bugs crawling on the floor. Here were the other problems:
The fixtures were rusty. The walls were either dirty or moldy. The carpet was damp. The AC unit smelled. There was a hole in the ceiling. The room was disgusting and dirty. We were appalled but it had been a 13-hour drive and it was 9pm. We were exhausted and slept fully clothed on top of the sheets. After checking for bedbugs which I've never wanted or needed to do at a hotel.
Next morning we went to the front desk and complained about how gross the room was. The young man supposedly got us another room for a $20/night upgrade (was $40, he'd do it for $20) and they would call when the room was ready. Left for the day and came back at 5pm. His shift was over and an older man said there was nothing on our account, no note. This man again proceeded to get us in another room, the NEXT DAY. So we had to stay in the room another night. He comped us the room for that night (another story, had to call Priceline and get them to issue the credit and they had to call the front desk. Oyyy).
Next morning first thing we did was zoom down to the front desk and make sure we were getting another room. Original young man was there and visibly paled when I told him we didn't get a new room the day before. He knew he screwed up and I felt he felt bad. Confirmed that we would be getting a call after housekeeping went through. By 1pm we were in the newer building, oceanfront, balcony. Beautiful room. I could've lived in that room. Except that the sheets were stained on one of the beds. Yuck. Half our stay was in a disgusting room and the other half was on a beautiful room. Saw dolphins from our balcony the morning of our departure! Funny thing that both rooms were $329 (or $399) per night rate on the back of the door. They were NOT created equal.
So beware! Don't take in the 5-story building! It's gross!!

While we are grateful that you chose our hotel in your travel plans, we are truly sorry for the series of unfortunate circumstances that prevented you from getting the desired room to stay in. We want all customers regardless of where they confirmed their room reservation to have an excellent time and enjoy themselves on the beach and while using our many hotel amenities. There obviously was a miscommunication at our front desk and we truly apologize. There are varying prices at our hotel based on room type, view etc. We hope you will reconsider and comeback to stay with us again, so that we can make it up to you and provide you with a stress-free relaxing vacation.
