Back Bay is beautiful. It is a wonderful place to spend a few hours for a nice hike or picnic. It's not too far from the ocean front and well worth the trip.

Fairly flat trails to False Cape State Park. Great views, very peaceful. Lots of opportunities for pics.

“Secret heaven”

If you want to see the last totally wild beach on the east coast, here it is. You can't really swim as there are no guards but it is so beautiful you won't care. Nature trails, wild horses (if they get around the barrier) bobcats, eagles, migrating birds And YOU. This park is secluded and most don't even know it is here. Accessible by foot, bike or kayak. Venture deeper to false cape and see it as it has always been. They do offer a nice tram or the terragator depending on the season for those who don't want to hoof it.

There are at least 8 miles of trails that extent all the way to the carolina line. Best place to mountian bike ride in VA. We used to spend the intire day out there and then ride back part way on the beach. It is one of my favorite memories. Bring a camera because there is alot to see and you can see a good portion of it on a mountain bike. This is one of Virginia's best kept secrets for naturalists. Get out and ride!
