The big attraction for this park was the beach. It's along the Chesapeake Bay so there are no waves. The beach is very nice and clean. The water was normal and a sandy bottom that gradually deepens.
Camping: This trip we used a tent. The sites are pine needle floored and the shallow roots of the trees are challenging. The size of the sites are nice. The bathhouses are clean and don't skimp with the water which is great. The area is patrolled frequently by the state.
The way we got our site was to reserve the loop but the site its self was to drive by and find one that wasn't already taken. I don't know if you can reserve a particular site. The signage is on the verge of confusing. We didn't use the camp store.
