Owner description: Coastal history is alive and thriving at the Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum. Standing proudly at 24th Street on the Boardwalk, the museum building itself is a Virginia Beach icon on the National Register of Historic Places. Explore lots of fun exhibits and a great gift shop right on the boardwalk!

“Tiny place such a treat”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

The size of the Old Coast Guard Station belies the numbers of treasures inside. Volunteers are usually on handto help with history and lore of the Coast Guard Station and its terricic attendants over the years. It was moved from a site slightly north in order to provide the station with its own museum-like ambience. Photographs and substantial memorabilia make it a fascinating place to visit. The gift shop is full of books and other objects to take home as reminders of a special place.

“Good Museum to learn about beach rescue here.”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We were greeted with enthusium and smiles and a brief oral history and guide to start us off. Then we were left on our own to read and study on the 2nd floor. Very informative.

“Nice quaint historical Coast Guard station.”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

Inside there's alot of pictures and old artifacts to see. The fee was only a few dollars or if you want to become a member it's free. If you enjoy Coast Guard history this place I would highly recommend to check it out.

Small museum with small fee and small store right on the boardwalk, nice to visit when you are walking by, nothing special.
