Murphy's is convenient with reasonable prices but, because it's a sports grill, it can be a bit loud if you are trying to have a conversation.

Stayed within walking distance of Murphy's on a recent trip to Va beach. Hungry and tired after sitting in a traffic jam on 64 (for several hours) on a Friday night GETTING to the beach...we weren't exactly in the mood to do any more driving once we found our lodgings. We stumbled onto Murphy's without knowing anything about it. They have outdoor seating on an enclosed patio in addition to a large indoor restaurant. Judging by the lively crowd on the patio where we seated ourselves...it was going to be more bar than restaurant. Didn't matter...ordered several appetizers for our group and the bonus was, the food was GOOD! The food prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent. We ended up going back for a Sunday brunch which was also surprisingly good. They make a mean bloody mary. This was a pleasant surprise. Not high end but good quality and value in a touristy area.

The service was good and the food was even better. Good prices for the beach. After our bad experience at Cactus Jack's, we were very pleased with Murphy's.

My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant one afternoon for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious (I had the Irish Stew with Soda Bread), but the service was average. Would definitely return!

Pleasant respite from all the typical beach pizza places. Reasonable prices, decent selection (including some Irish fare) and nice draft beer selection. We had a nice meal as a family, so don't be worried it is too "bar like". Good service as well.
