I stay at this hotel during my trips to DC. The front desk staff is always helpful and friendly, offering practical advice and willing to go the "extra step". The manager's reception is a terriffic way to unwind after travel and the shuttle is a great convenience. I will continue to recommend to friends and family.

The hotel was attractive (inside). It was clean. I would recommend it. But...

Dear Hoteliers,
It is 2013. With few exceptions, one guest will have a laptop, a tablet, a smart phone, and other devices which **do not work** without in-room internet access. Charging for internet access is greedy to the core. No maps to find my way around, I couldn't use Yelp to find a restaurant, I couldn't check my email. I felt cut off from the rest of the world for 2 days, and I didn't enjoy it. It was - in fact - infuriating at times. The for-pay "service" access point erased ALL of my open windows and replaced the content with their demand for more money on top of their room "rates." This is the main reason I try to stay at boutique hotels and other options. Big hotel chains are sickeningly greedy and it makes for a much less comfortable experience. Please come with your guests into the 21st Century.

You could offer complimentary wifi in exchange for:
mediocre breakfast
housekeeping
two flat screen TVs in the room
pool/fitness access

I'm done with chain hotels. It's not this property's fault, but I wouldn’t come back.

Room Tip: As of May 2013, the new Metro Silver Line is still under construction directly across from the hotel. I stayed on a weekend, but if you need to sleep in on a weekday, I would recommend a room on the rear of the building.

Top of the line experience. All the criteria one would want were met and exceeded. We had an Expedia deal and so it was even sweeter. Suite was a lovely corner unit. Immaculate. Amenities right up there: free wifi, parking and extraordinary breakfast included. Pool and hot tub complete with attendant/life guard. Manager's reception (happy hour) each evening. We would come again and will as we have family in the area.
We tend to 'sleep cheap' and probably would find this more expensive than we care to pay but with Expedia it was the same price range we prefer but with so much more.

Room Tip: The corner rooms have two outside windows. All suites have two windows but one faces the atrium in non-corner units.

Just spend 5 nights for a business trip. Morning breakfast can't be beat and the evening managers reception with free drinks from 5:30-7 is a great way to wind down your day. Even ordered a couple evening meals that weren't too bad, but were far from great meals. Staff is friendly, bad part was elevators had an issue one evening but they were fixed quick. Shuttle service is fast and quick and shuttle drivers are all friendly as is true with they rest of the staff.

There have been some recent updates to this hotel. The new fitness center has two treadmills, one elipitical and one bicycle for exercise and some weights - so there can be a slight wait for one of the treadmills. The entrance to the pool is also through fitness center so there can be considerable traffic which I did not particularly care for.
Room was great - and reasonably quiet even when two bus loads of teen agers arrived for the night.
Breakfast was very good - omelets to order and not crowded.
With all the construction (new metro, etc) entering and exiting can be a small challenge if you are not used to that congestion.
