I have eaten here several times, including a buffet. I am not a "bufffet person," but this one was truly disastrous. The food was "old" and not at all flavorful. Occasionally, I have had a decent meal here but never as advertised. The marketing makes the place sound so very exciting, but it just isn't.

I am surprised by your review. We very seldom have buffets here because we prefer to always have fresh food prepared upon order (only a few in a year's time). It has been a very long time since we had a buffet and that was upon a customer's request. To say that our food was "old" and not flavorful is such a strange description because our food is prepared from simple ingredients, seasoned carefully, and prepared in the way our customers prefer, and served immediately. I keep thinking that you must mean a different restaurant.....our only reason for existence is our customers enjoyment and we work very hard to provide that. So, I am puzzled by your comments

We came as a group of about 28 and had two rows of tables. We had pre-selected our menu and each guest had three options each for a three course fixed price meal. The food was good and the salmon I had was well cooked with a tasty sauce. The main course was slow but that was no problem as we were there to visit. The decor is eccentric but pleasant.

Parking space in paved areas is limited and we parked on the grass beside the place. All in all it is better than expected for a small town restaurant.

We have dined in the Roanoke area only a few times as we travel off of 81. The first time was in 2013 and then again this past week 2017. Both times have been with excellent experiences.

First the the variety of choices were many and quality of the food was perfectly prepared and seasoned. This included the main and side dishes. The server and overall staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. This extended to the wine list and the jazz background music.

After our first time we promised the next time we were traveling through around dinner time we would again stop. While the it was a 4 year time, the experience again confirmed out first visit. Yes this is a first class sophisticated experience found between US81 and the Blue Ridge Pkwy in Troutville, VA. It remains on our list of places to stop whether we're in the fast lane of 81 or just enjoying the Appalachian Trail.
