“Great stop-over”

Great location as a way station on our road trip. We liked it so much we stayed on our return trip. Clean, good food, friendly staff. Good fitness center, too! Came too late for the free goodies set up in the lobby.

Several time a year we make the road trip from Charleston, SC to somewhere in the Northeast (Boston, New York, Jersey Shore) and need to break the long drive with a one night stayover along the route. Typically, we stay at various interstate Hampton Inns because of consistent quality experience with this chain. We've always stay at the Hilton Garden in Suffolk along this route because of its outstanding quality for a road trip stay. Convenient, private, beautiful grounds and facility, sizable upscale rooms, good service and a reasonable price. It's always one of our best stops.

Room Tip: Conveniently located on Rt 58, when traveling between I-95 and 13 (Eastern Shore).

We recommend this hotel to anyone who wants quality and comfort while staying in the Suffolk area. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Staff is friendly, helpful and beyond. You might find a less expensive place to stay but you will not be unhappy at spending a little extra to get so much more.

Driving south last Thursday night and wanted to stop after we went through the Bay Bridge Tunnel. Drove a little farther and at 1130pm I went on trip advisor and called this hotel. The man that answered was very pleasant. When we arrived we were happy to see what a nice place it was and also how clean. Our room was large and had a coffee bar, microwave and Fridge. Shocking that it wasn't an additional charge. Modern and lots of towels. We would stay there again if we travel that way.

This hotel looks nice and that staff are friendly, but the hotel itself is very poor quality. The appliances are old or overused- the AC sounds like a semi truck idling outside your window. I don't even mean your own AC. I mean the AC of the person in the room above you. It's so loud, I had white noise on at top volume and ear plugs, and that just about let me sleep. It is a grinding, squeaking noise, not a nice fan noise. I changed rooms but it was just as bad the second night in a different room. A coworker asked if they had a fan he could borrow for white noise and they said no. The windows don't open, so you can't get the musty smell out and you can't get a breeze in, you are stuck with the crappy AC that runs like it is gas powered and breaking down. The mini fridge was also terribly loud in the first room, better in the second but not great.

I will be in the area a lot, and I will try every other hotel in the area (except maybe the one that advertises $35/night) before I stay here again voluntarily. Just a very unpleasant experience not being about to get to sleep and having to have some sort of music, TV or static playing in the room to cover up the vibrating, oscillating noises.

Room Tip: Maybe try to get a room on the top floor so no one is above you. They didn't offer me a room on...

Nice, updated facility. Rooms are clean though on the smaller side. Breakfast was definitely not free ($12.95/person) but it was very good as was the server who was especially cheerful). Pool and workout facility was WAY too small - that was disappointing. Staff at desk were ok - not overly friendly. The location was very pretty - it felt "homey."

The meeting room and staff was great. The staff was very help in setting up the meeting room. Lunch at the hotel was good, but it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to eat. Took 45 minutes to get the food. The room needed some help. The bathroom floor was little dirty and the desk in the room was broken.
