The food is inspired by the seasons and the South. Wonderfully spaced throughout with a cocktail area, main dining room, booth seating and private dining for up to 25 people. Design is accented with American lumber and a turn of the century mural discovered during renovations for the restaurant.

We chose Harper's Table for treating an out of town guest to a birthday dinner based on extensive recommendations from locals and online reviews. I must say, the reviews and recommendations were right on! Upon entering the door, we were greeted by a pleasant and smiling hostess. We arrived a bit before our reservation time, so we seated ourselves at the bar while awaiting a table. The drinks were good, and the wine selection was wonderful. We were promptly seated at our reservation time, and proceeded with ordering our food since we had reviewed the menu at the bar. We had some deviled eggs as an appetizer, and they were wonderful. The Bone-In Pork Chop that I ordered was truly delicious, and my fellow dining patrons were quite pleased with their meals as well. Our server was great and very helpful, offering recommendations and helping our guest decide between two dishes. The only point of note I will mention is that the front dining room was rather loud. We had a difficult time hearing one another over dinner, but with the intimate and comforting feel of the dining room I would not consider it a negative--- just worth mentioning.

This place was wonderful! We moved from charleston a year and a half ago and haven't been able to find cuisine that is anywhere close. 5 star dining- great atmosphere and Lauren and Christine were amazing! Oysters, pork belly and burgers were to die for! Will be back!

My wife and I were looking for an adventure, something new, so on an invitation from an old friend decided to drive two hours to Suffolk and try Harper's Table.

For starters, the inside is warm and inviting. The menu is unique starting with the pork belly biscuit, panzanella salad, oyster board, wine list and entrees. Everything was excellent. Homemade butter and other accompaniments added a rich touch. We wanted to try a variety of things like the biscuit, oysters, salad and spinach with garlic, ginger and chiles, so we both had the Table Burger for our entree. This doesn't sound adventurous, but the beef is locally sourced and Harper is not afraid to serve it medium rare-which nobody does these days. We ended with homemade vanilla ice cream with an eight ounce Coke float.
The service was the best we have had in memory. Our wine glasses were kept full and we were never interrupted
A memorable evening that is just what we were looking for.

Small, original restaurants are a dying breed- so we were thrilled when Harper's Table opened up in downtown Suffolk. The interior design and feel is really warm and cozy. The front has tall ceilings and a bar with nicely sized booths and tables. A back room has lower ceilings and a more intimate feel. The menu is really unique and the food always good. The pork belly biscuits are a must! Their wine menu is great and I've heard others rave about their mixed drinks. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and talkative (in a good way). Good service is another dying art- so it is refreshing to encounter. I highly recommend Harper's Table- worth the drive if you don't live in Suffolk.
