“Great spot in Suffolk”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Very good restaurant, great decor and friendly staff. Went there with a group from work and service was great. I had the Ribeye Steak and it was perfectly cooked. I did not have dessert, but other at the table said the cornbread dessert was great. I would certainly reccomend this restaurant.

“Local boy shows off his Southern pride and love of SEVA”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Fresh ingredients and local farmers and artisans are highlighted on the seasonal menu at Harpers Table. The 1890's Coca Cola menu uncovered during build out gives hT a sense of place and times gone by. I loved the pork belly biscuit, the soft shell taco, burger and the lima beans and bacon. This is real southern cooking at its best. Staff was wonderful and offered helpful suggestions. Wines were well priced and good choices to be had. I can not wait to go back.

“Welcome Addition”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We're becoming regulars at this place. Entrees and appetizers are equally good. Service is good, and the overall atmosphere and experience has been sorely lacking in downtown Suffolk. Support them if you want to keep them.

“Two nights in a row”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We were in the Norfolk area for a weekend with our daughter who suggested HT. Friday night at 6 PM there were a many tables occupied. Our waitress Christina was very knowledgeable about the menu, food sources (local) and what went into the pan in the kitchen. The menu is imaginative and every offering we tried was delicious. The wine list is extensive and very reasonable with offerings from all major wine producing areas of the world. It was so remarkable we returned on Saturday evening. We'll return there on our next visit to our daughter's; it's our first choice for delicious food, superb service and a cozy simple elegance. I can only hope they make it for the long term.

“A Tasty Experience”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Dinner tonight was delicious. From the person who opened the door for us to the hostess offering a mint as we left, the service was divine! With so many eateries offering the more is better plan it was a welcomed change to have a meal with emphasis on quality above quantity. The raspberry salad presentation was elegant and the flavors were perfect. Our NC Shrimp did give some concern for one diner when the dish was topped with a raw egg. This fact SHOULD be mentioned on the menu folks! One person chose to have it removed from her plate while the other agreed with her server that it did add a creaminess to the sauce. The men had the hT Pork Steak and were impressed by the size of the entree and thought the taste was great. The side "For The Table" of fries was enough for everyone to have a taste and they were almost the best fries we'd ever had. We ended the meal with a slice of chocolate meringue pie that was adequate, not as good as home made though. Our tab for 4, including one cocktail and beverages all around was $140.00. The smaller portions were just right and the quality was spot on! Recommend for a great meal and great service and if possible ask for a table in the back. The private dining room is much quieter than the main room. Even the restrooms were outstanding! Loved it!
