Description: Centrally located in the Downtown Arts and Historic district of Strasburg. The Neighbor is the local place for good homemade country style meals. From Breakfast all day, burgers, salads, fish, vegetarian to steak. Fully equipped with the local liars table and of course friendly staff and service. The Neighbor is most certainly not a chain restaurant. Our culinary philosophy is to serve the best homemade foods at reasonable prices. Chef owned and operated by Sam and Pat.

“Lunch for 5 at Hi Neighbor Restaurant, Strasburg VA”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We wanted a distinctive lunch experience, and when we saw the sign for "Hi Neighbor Restaurant" coming down the hill into Strasburg, it looked just right. Located in downtown Strasburg, Hi Neighbor Restaurant is a wonderful blend of classic diner, country restaurant, and simple, good home-cooking. We ordered hamburgers, chicken wraps, sweet ice tea, fries and onion rings. Everything was great. The burgers were fresh, big, juicy and hot, and the wraps were tasty. The fries could have been crisper, but the onion rings were crisp and hot.

The folks at Hi Neighbor are as friendly as the name. Other diners who seemed to be regulars were clearly enjoying time at one of their favorite places.

We'll stop again, since we pass through the I-81/ I-66 intersection a lot. We recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the usual fast food joints for a slice of neighborly down-home hospitality.

“Enjoyed our meal”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

We were looking for a place that had more than a sandwich and found it with this little restaurant. The outside was nothing special but when you see that many people headed in you figure it must be a good place to eat. You could tell a lot of the people were locals from the conversations around you. Our waitress was good. We both had the fried chicken and two sides, very tasty. The macaroni and cheese was exactly what I was hoping for. The prices were reasonable. If we are in the area again, we will return.

“Small town breakfast and BS”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

Little storefront restaurant in Strasburg. Unpretentious, local spot. Nice breakfast, including Scrapple. Good coffee - doesn't always happen these days. Part of the charm is listening in on the local chatter and political discussions.

Small town America. If you don't like this restaurant, then there is something wrongwith you. I had the Country Fried Steak, cream gravy, mashed taters, green beans with a nice portion of ham hock. My wife had the omelet. It was wonderful. Everybody was friendly, the restaurant was clean and inviting. I, will go back anytime i'm in the Shenandoah Valley.
