Full disclosure: this property is in my neighborhood, so I'm a regular! The Bungalow is really 5 or more restaurants all rolled in to one, so it offers multiple food and atmosphere experiences all in the same location. I've tried nearly all of their offerings and have yet to be disappointed. The center of the property is a country club-style setting, with wood paneling, soft lighting, and deep-cushioned seating, as well as a comfortable bar. In this restaurant the featured menu is diverse, creative, and local, from local charcuterie offerings, regional beef, pork, and chicken, and multiple delicious fish dishes, which we favor. The preparations and presentations are delicious and worth the slightly above average prices. We will often go on a Wednesday night when they offer a selection of half-price bottles of wine; we drink a glass and take the remainder home! When we need a quick meal, like just before flying out of Dulles, or when entertaining a larger group from work, we'll eat in the expansive sports bar with lots of TVs and pool tables (non-smoking, which we appreciate), or on the patio overlooking the pond at sunset in the warm months. Sports bar and patio food offerings are more traditional sandwiches and entrees that still pay good attention to food detail and offer delicious regional options, including an extensive list of local beers. There is also a cigar bar that smokers can utilize, closed to the sports bar, but open to one end of the building. They offer weekend brunch. For many times of the day, and many styles of foods, this convenient location, close attention to good food, and pleasant servers and owners is a great value and pleasure that keep us coming back regularly.
