Don't get me wrong the food here is good but it's not true New York style. When I think N.Y. deli, hand carved meats, lots of character (and characters), sandwiches piled mile high and a certain aroma that only comes from years of hot pastrami and brisket wafting in the air comes to mind. The menu has all the deli standards. Be prepared to stand in line especially if you come at lunch. There's a great selection of drinks, canned and fountain. Sadly, no egg cream though. If you've not experienced a real N.Y. deli you love it. If you have, you'll find the food good but Katz's it ain't.
