We celebrated our anniversary here and it was truly delightful! We stayed at the cabin by the pond and it was perfect! The room was very clean and decorated beautifully and well stocked with toiletries. The food was amazing! The staff was attentive and the innkeepers made you feel at home. It was my first time at a bed and breakfast and I wondered if I would enjoy myself minus the technical luxeries (telephone, tv., etc). My husband and I had a wonderful time and didn't miss a thing. We enjoyed the quiet and relaxation with having a weekend away from the kids and I would definitly go again and again and again!

We found the Inn at Vaucluse Spring after getting a gift certificate to Select Registry for our wedding. The property is beautiful, and you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. One of the owners, Barry, greeted us upon our arrival, sat us down with some hot cider and pastry, and gave us a variety of local dinner menus to decide where we wanted to eat (we opted not to eat at the inn our first night). Once we decided, he booked us a reservation, and then helped us settle into our room. We stayed in the main building, in the Barton Room on the first floor. The room was spectacular. Our only complaint was the people walking over our heads for breakfast a little bit earlier than we would have wanted to wake up, but we now know that for next time.

The food was absolutely amazing! Homemade Gingerbread Scones greeted us at breakfast our first morning, followed by a fruit plate and a spinach fritata. During breakfast, Barry came by our table to check in, and helped us decide which caverns to head to for the day. The inn provides a variety of local maps and sightseeing options, and the staff was extremely knowledgeble of the area.

That night, we returned for dinner, preceeded by a social hour. It was nice to meet some of the other folks staying at the inn. Dinner was magnificent! 2 words describe it: food coma! I almost wish we had skipped lunch that day, just to have more room for dinner. It was all homemade by our hostess, Neil. We can't rave about it enough. We started with an acorn/butternut squash soup, followed by a salad complete with local poached pears, roasted pecans and blue cheese. The main course was pork, which I don't even really eat, but it was fantastic. Dessert consisted of an amazing pie we're told was inspired by a Milky Way candy bar. Can you tell, for us, food is a big deal...

The grounds of the Inn themselves are beautiful. It was a bit brisk this weekend, but we did spend some time one afternoon sitting outside on the main building's porch, reading our books. In warmer weather, we'd like to go back and stay in the Stephens House, which has its own enclosed porch.

We'd highly recommend this inn to anyone looking to get away for a week or a weekend There is plenty to do in the area, and plenty to keep you occupied on the grounds if you just want to stay in. And if you're not quite sure what you want to do, your hosts and their staff are more than happy to help you decide. --- Lee & Jessica Margolies, Alexandria, VA
