“Weekend Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

The Mrs and I spent a romantic weekend here in late summer 2013 and I must say that the reviews prior to mine do not lie. The charm of this place is hard to put into words, you really have to experience it first hand. The pictures do make an attempt at capturing some of the tranquility of the Inn but alas its an experience that must be felt by your senses.

The food is equal to that of any five star restaurant. Service is outstanding. The rooms and accommodations are just fantastic; the floors are clean enough to eat off of, all of your needs are thought of and addressed, and the staff are very attentive to address any concern, or convenience to make your stay optimal.

We had a great time, and even though you don't get that "personal" feeling from the owners that you'd get at a smaller B&B (The Inn can host 34 guests in total) the charm and intimacy is exactly the same.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main house on the lower level are flanked by the original fireplace from the 1700's...

This was the 3rd time we visited the inn. Every time is spectacular! The people are friendly, the rooms are amazing, the food is incredible. Today we had lemon wild blueberry scones, fresh peaches and then an egg omlet filled with fresh corn, basil and cheese with a yellow tomato purée.

If you are going to go vineyard hopping this is the place to stay!

We just spent our 40th wedding anniversary at the Inn. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights with dinner both nights at the Inn. The food was excellent and the setting is incredible. The innkeepers go out of their way to make your stay great! Is a definite "go again"!

My husband and I enjoyed an anniversary weekend stay at Inn at Vaucluse Spring, June 21-23. We had read the positive reviews on Trip Advisor regarding this property and had to stay there. We were not disappointed- every review was absolutely true. We stayed in The Cabin which was awesome. We had dinner both Friday night and Saturday night (a wine pairing dinner with Glen Manor Winery). Both were fantastic and fun. We enjoyed a bike ride on Saturday through the rolling Virginia countryside and afterwards, relaxed by the pool. Neil and Barry are gracious and generous hosts and their staff is top notch. We recommend this B & B with the highest "thumbs up" possible.

My girlfriend and I have come here twice, and we'll keep coming back. The owners are amazing - down to earth, super friendly, and do everything in their power to make the stay easy and relaxing. The accommodations are beautiful and immaculate. Each guest house has its own character and charm. We love the Mill House Studio and The Gallery. Had the big pool over looking the meadows to ourselves this past trip. Love the interior of the historic manor house. Chumley Homeplace has a terrific lounge, kitchen, and library as common space. The grounds are private, quiet, and picturesque with adirondack chairs scattered in peaceful nooks throughout the property. There's a babbling brook lined with flowers, huge trees all over the property, a water mill and big pond, nicely mowed paths through meadows, gardens of lavender, and much more. It's the place to go if you want to get away from it all, unwind, connect with yourself and loved ones instead of the TV, and enjoy gourmet meals of the best quality.

The Inn at Vaucluse Spring is charming and uniquely situated in a lovely complex of old buildings, beautiful landscaping, and soothing water features. Neil (one of the owners) made us feel very welcome. Our large suite (Jones) in the main house is both elegant and comfortable. The 5-course gourmet dinner is a high point of a visit. Adam is a personable and talented chef. His creative preparations and commentary make the 3-hour experience quite delightful.

Room Tip: The Jones suite is an oasis of serenity. It includes a very comfortable bed, a jacuzzi, and two gas...

We are delighted that you had a great stay, and heartily agree that dinner with Chef Adam is a high point for food lovers! We do want to clarify for those who might not catch the distinction, these guests visited during the week and enjoyed what we call Dinner with the Chef. This is a 5-course dinner prepared and personally served by the chef, allowing for plenty of interaction with the chef. This could well be a 3-hour experience depending on the pace set by the guests and amount of conversation with the chef. Dinner with the Chef is available Tuesday through Thursday nights. Guests considering coming for a Friday or Saturday dinner should not be concerned that a weekend dinner would be a 3 hour event, although guests often do adjourn to the common areas or porch after dinner to continue conversations or enjoy a glass of wine.

For the 13th year in a row a group of us who used to work together visited the Inn at Vaucluse Spring for the weekend. As usual, hosts Neil and Barry Myers, made it a special weekend. The accommodations continue to be first class and I can't say enough about the Friday night supper, the Saturday night 5 course dinner and the wonderful breakfasts served at the Inn. We met some new friends as well as reconnecting with old friends so it was a lot of fun. How much fun was it??? Three of the couples we met are scheduling their visit next July to coincide with our group's weekend. That's one of the beauties of Vaucluse. Interesting people add to your own experience. We spent a couple of lazy hours at the pool, a few lazy hours on the porch with the breeze gently blowing past and a few lazy hours visiting orchards, wineries and shops. There is something for everyone, especially with the addition of the distillery now open in Sperryville and the new winery within 5 minutes of Vaucluse. Whether you're looking for a special romantic weekend or relaxing getaway or a place to call home while you hike and kayak at nearby areas, you can't do better than Vaucluse!

Room Tip: If you're with a group of 6 or more, you might want to reserve the rooms in the Summer Kitchen o...
