We had finally found a place to part in our search for the Woodrow Wilson museum/birthplace. It was lunch time and husband needed nourishment. I noticed an adjacent street had small shops and eateries so we decide to take a walk. I checked my phone for nearby eateries and saw that a place called Cranberry's had a high rating and appeared to be nearby according to map. Staunton is hilly but this historic district turned out to be quite quaint. There was a cafe on one corner and then we looked up a side-street and saw the sign for Cranberry's. Sort of a small natural food market and cafe combo. There is seating outside on the street and tables inside. Menu is posted on the window/door so you can check it out before entering. Nice selection of sandwiches and interesting food options on the menu. Ordered at the counter with a patience and pleasant young woman ... then picked our table. We decided to go with BLTs, which were delivered to our table with drinks. We had a delightful lunch. Very clean restrooms available ...the pull-chain on wall mounted water tank brought back memories of my grandmother's house when I was a little girl! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch if you are in the downtown/historic area of Staunton.
