“Delicious but noisy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

We visited Mill St on a wed evening and had a 20 minute wait for our table - but then we had another 15 minute wait for our waitress to show up at the table so we ordered drinks, appetizer and meals all in one fell swoop as we were salivating after smelling everyone else’s dinners for 35 minutes. Service picked up once the waitress decided to serve us. The appetizer and meals were delicious and the portions were large. We had the tomato, cheese, bread appetizer and there was more than enough for the three of us. The fresh hot bread - three varieties and blueberry butter were scrumptious! The girls had scallops and I had Ribs (beef and pork - don’t get the beef though as you will have a hard time finding meat amongst the fat and huge bones - stick with the pork - it taste better too) and the squash was a most tasty veg of the day. The wine and ale was good. Unfortunately, we were looking for a quiet evening though and the restaurant was very noisy. Decor was OK. This may be one of the best places in Staunton, but it is certainly not among the best places I've been to in my travels.

“Awesome service, really good food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

We were really impressed with this place. Great beer and wine list, and really good bread. The tuna salad we ordered as an appetizer was very good, and I loved my Greek mahi mahi for dinner. My husband ordered a steak medium rare. It came out way overcooked. He wasn't going to say anything, but a passing waiter (not ours) noticed him picking at it and asked if he ordered it well done. He said he'd asked for medium rare, and within minutes they brought him a new steak, perfectly cooked. He thought the second one was delicious. Our dessert (apple bread pudding) was good but not great...it was huge though, and we left very, very full and quite happy.

“Great place - very busy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

Got seated with a booth, but this place is busy busy and I can see why. Food and service was great and very reasonable. Devon - our waitress was superb she really took care of us well. The bread and special butters are to die for and great selection of beers. Would def. recommend it.

“Thursday night diner at the Mill Street”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Stopped in during the mid-week dinner hour. Seated immediately in a booth. Mill Street has an extensive 6-page menu. Good hearty fare, fare prices.
Waitress was a little slow with the service and managed to pout tea in my lap while refilling the glass. She didn’t seem to think anything about it.

“Great beer, food and atmosphere”

What more could you want from a restaurant than great beer (a vast selection including micro breweries) great ribs (the white star combo almost had me beat) and live music.
