“Best home-cooking restaurant for miles around”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Eating at this restaurant is like eating at the home of the best cook in the world. They give very ample portions, sell take home meals and large homemade pies. All prices are VERY reasonable. I know people who travel from the DC metro area (250 mi.) just to eat lunch at this restaurant.

“Take your time”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

We stopped for lunch and a quick lunch on the way to Washington. The parking was packed but we managed to find a place. No waiting for a table, we were seated right away. Down hill from there. We ordered immediately and they brought cold coffee. Waitress never asked us anything else for almost an hour. Other people sat, ate and left before we got our food. We thought getting the special of the day would be fast and good, It was neither. Mashed potatoes were plain creamed and dull. Mac and cheese hard. The worst part was waiting an hour to get any food. Don't waste your time going here. Bring a book. We would never go back.

“Good home cooking at a reasonable price.”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

The restaurant has good home cooking and a counter where you can buy pies, cookies and even pre-packaged dinners. The pricing is low to moderate and good value for the money. They do serve liquor. They are only opened until 7 or 8pm so go early.

“Good Food, So So Atmosphere”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

The food at Mrs. Rowe's is definitely one of the closest to home cooked meals you can get, without spending all day in the kitchen. The selection is good and daily specials help to narrow down your choices. Desserts are amazing. As for the service, it varies with each visit. Our last visit we had a charming young lady named Shanna, who provided excellent service. As for the atmosphere, depending on where you are sitting, it can either feel like an old style diner or an overcrowded dining room at Thanksgiving. Luckily the food makes up for this.
