“So Glad They're Back!!!!”
Reviewed March 11, 2012

My husband and I had dinner at Taste of India the first day they re-opened. The food was excellent as always, as was the attentive staff. The menu is the same as before, including the choice of the level of spiciness you want. Their standard level of heat is just perfect for me, savory but not too spicy. But they will make the food as mild or as spicy as you wish. The new location is somewhat more upscale than where they were before as the Staunton Grocery was here before. But the ambiance and charming staff remain the same.

“Taste of India has reopened in a new location -- and the food is just as good”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

Taste of Inida is now located at 105 West Beverley Street (the main drag) in the space formerly occupied by Staunton Grocery (now closed). (The building Taste used to be in was condemned through no fault of theirs.)

The food is just as good as ever. We shared an order of vegetable samozas, I had Chicken Karma, my wife had her favorite lamb dish, and we split a nine-vegetables cooked in mango and an order of basil naan. Everything was first rate. We had enough to take home (and they gave us extra rice to take along),

The space now offers free-standing tables and bench or half-booth seating along the side. It is tastefully decorated with a quiet and relaxing theme.

A very good buffet (eat in or take out) is served at lunch for $8.95.

“Finally back!”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

Taste of India is delicious and a special place to eat. The owners will remember regulars, come out and say hello, and always make you feel welcome. The food is DELICIOUS and we in Staunton are really, really glad it will be reopening soon!

“Closed, unfortunately.”
Reviewed January 12, 2012

This restaurant had to close because the building it was in was condemned. Hopefully they will open another branch in Staunton. The closest Taste of India at present is in Harrisonburg, about 20 miles north on route 81.

“Please re-open, best around”
Reviewed December 5, 2011

The best place for Indian food in Staunton and Harrisonburg. We now drive to Harrisonburg just to get our Indian food fix. The buffet was excellent and the meals always tasty. The service was top-notch and fun to talk with. The price and value was great. I wish them well and hope they find a nice place to re-open. We miss them desperately.
