A friend and I enjoyed dinner here on a Friday night - the downstairs bar area was packed and noisy, and we had reserved a table upstairs to escape from the noise. Unfortunately, the stairway is wide and open and the noise level carried upstairs as well. It was certainly less noisy than downstairs and at least until the band started at 9, we were able to carry on a normal conversation. When the band started it was quite a bit larger.
That said, the food was delicious. They brought wonderful bread, with a little divided dish with butter on one side and oil an herbs for dipping on the other. I had a Caesar salad which was not exceptional but good. Our entrees were delicious - I ordered a filet medium rare and had to send it back for some additional grill time as it was quite rare. My friend ordered a veal piccata which she said was delicious. My steak, when it was returned, was cooked perfectly and had been replated so it looked as lovely as when it first arrived. Nice touch. The filet could be cut with a fork. Garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. My friend's veal was accompanied by delicious gnocchi which I think must have been homemade (I tasted one - yum!).
Overall, this is a fine restaurant and I would go back - I expect at lunch it would be quieter but the food just as good!
