The atmosphere, food, and menu at Maria's is what I like to refer to affectionately as Blue Collar Italian. The place is not fancy, but it is very comfortable and the menu has a good variety of dishes . . . though the menu does lack a fish dish (don't know what they do on Fridays; perhaps run a special). There was good Italian background music. The chef, Vito (you gotta like that name), accommodated my request to add spinach to the chicken dish I ordered. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (big portions), my glass of wine, and the service was excellent.
Though Maria's is not a cozy, romantic Italian bistro by any stretch, it is a great place to get a good Italian meal.
