Staunton (pronounced "Stanton") is a most interesting town and the Montclair is the best place to stay whether you are there for the Shakespeare, the Mary Baldwin College, the Wilson Presidential Library, or just passing through. It is short walk to all of these features in Staunton.
Parking on the street was easy, and we were given a "resident's guest sticker" to avoid a ticket. They also have a parking area behind the B&B. There is really no need for the car once it is parked and luggage unloaded into your room.
Our Hosts at the Montclair provided several suggestions for dining, together with a map of the town marked so we could reconnoiter, look at menus and get a feeling for the down town Mark is an avid outdoorsman and I am sure he can suggest fishing spots, though he probably has his secret spots.
Mark is also a trained Eggspert (that is he has taken classes in Egg preparation) and we had a very fine Mushroom Omelet for breakfast, along with great coffee and the extras we had requested.
Our room was fully equipped with more than all the amenities of a nice hotel including sparkling mineral water and snacks.
Be sure to call and book ahead. The hosts will happily give you the details of the rooms available and will take your special diet needs into account.
