I don't think I have ever rated a restaurant this poorly. We went to Applebee's mainly because the line at Outback was very long (and we forgot to call ahead). We had not been to Applebee's in years for dinner, and since they had just remodeled and had steak on the menu, we thought we would try it out. It was very crowded, but we were seated as soon as we arrived. Our waiter took our drink order after about a five minute wait. He put in our appetizer order and that came pretty quickly. The crispy green beans were very good (lightly breaded with good sauces). About twenty minutes after we placed our order, our waiter told us he would come back with water refills. Close to forty minutes after we placed our order, we found our waiter (management had him waiting tables all over the restaurant so it was difficult to track him down). I asked him if he realized we had been waiting for forty-five minutes for our dinner and that we still did not have anymore drink refills. His response was "I know". That's it. Finally, we track the manager down who happens to be coming to our table. He tells us that there was a delay in our order getting put in, and asks us if there anything he can get us to drink (he sees the empty glasses). We tell him just the check, we will pay for what we have eaten, we tell him about the waiter (who also told us he had been partying late last night and that he comes from a "long line of waitresses/trailer trash"), and the manager tells us we don't have to pay for the appetizer. What surprised me was that he never offered us any other appetizer if we had waited (I told him I was too hungry to wait much longer for my order) and he never offered to comp us our next meal if we gave them another chance. He just asked that we give the restaurant another try. No thanks. And now that I have read reviews on TA about the food, I really don't need to try it again.
