My wife and I were restless this past Sunday and decided to drive south to find something to do. I pulled up a list of wineries on my phone and picked Potomac Point because it is fairly easy to get to and it looked like fun. It turned out to be a good decision. For $10 each we got 12 wines, as well as some quality time with the very mellow and friendly resident Australian shepherd, Chianti. You get to keep the wine glasses too. The wines were good, although I don't claim to have a picky taste. The tastings take place at a large 4 sided bar, which is a little different from the other wineries we have experienced. The advantage to that is it's very casual, the disadvantage is probably that you get a little less attention from the server. No big deal though.
I would recommend pairing the wine tasting with a trip to the Marine Corps Museum just down the road. They are only about 5 minutes away from each other, and it gives you a good reason to visit the area.
