This place is full of historical military artifacts. The owner is a WWII vet and he's in the restaurant almost everyday. The major is always willing to talk and share interesting stories; he's filled three published books with his memories from his day in service. The food has been right on every time I've been there. There's a good variety of items and they're all reasonably priced. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend this place.

I had a fabulous meal here. And the prices are so reasonable. The tilapia dinner was excellent. Lots of memorabilia and history in this place. We stopped here after visiting the Marine Museum.

We were in the area for our nephew's graduation from the FBI Academy and he knew of this restaurant as it had become a favorite for his classmates during their 10 weeks of training. We arrived on a Thursday night and there were two groups of customers estimated to be about 30 persons total.
We were seated by a server. Some twenty minutes later upon my urging...she returned to take our drink order. Again we had to track her down to get additional drinks.....some 15 minutes later she came to take the order...only to inform us of the items listed on the menu only a few remained available. Had it not been for our nephew....we would have walked out! We ordered just to get through the evening....food arriving we inquired about the delay. The reply was "those folks up behind you have been waiting 30 minutes or more?".
Maybe is was a bad day ....but certainly not what one would expect? This history of the restaurant and historic display would certainly give the impression that it would be a #1 type facility...we were totally disappointed and from our experience would not recommend other than to stop in and look at all of the military mementos...then go someplace else. For two plates of pasta and a salad with soup for the three of us with only two of us having drinks was over the top expensive.

This restaurant has grown into a larger venue over the years. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and have always enjoyed the food and decor. G&L is very close to Quantico Marine Corps base and the design reflects the location. It is loaded with all sorts of military mementos.

The service is very good, servers are attentive and know the menu. The food has always been excellent. If you receive something you do not like, they have been willing to exchange it. Prime rib is my favorite. There is also outside seating in good weather.

We like going to the Globe and Laurel for lunch when we like to get away from the office. The menu is quite extensive and the prices are great. There are many USMC photos and memorabilia to see and it is very interesting to talk with the many folks there who served our country!
