The Springfield location has seen a change in service and quality within that past year. We are not sure what changed, but the food comes out cold and orders have been mixed up the past few times. They were once more accommodating with special requests but now seem very stern and less personal. We've pretty much steered clear for awhile and have looked at other places. The food by itself is not bad, it's the service and quality more than anything that seems to have suffered at the Springfield location. You may have a different experience elsewhere at another Silver Diner.

The Silver Diner is a real blast from the past. The décor is vintage 1950's diner from the neon to the plastic booths. Best of all, there's a real jukebox which you can access from each table to play all your old favorites from the '50's through the 80's. Our server, Al, was knowledgeable and attentive. There's an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with locally sourced, often organic food. They have a bakery on premise with tempting desserts. The problem is the quality of the food, which doesn't come up to the promise of the ambiance. As we noted in the title, we liked everything except the food.

Stopped here for dinner to break up a long drive. Diner was crowded for a Tuesday night, had to wait. It was worth it. I have never seen diner food like this before. I had meatloaf. Never seen plating like this. Gorgeous, colorful, fresh look. Delicious as well. The diner claims all food is from local farms. I don't doubt it. Will stop here again!

Our first experience with the Silver Diner was because it was recommended by the friendly staff at the Residence Inn. They assured us they served a very good breakfast and they were right.

Our food was very good and prepared as ordered. We appreciated that it was not the "greasy" norm you usually get when you order breakfast.

We will go again before we leave the area.
