“Very good, typical Great American”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Mike's has a big lunch and Happy Hour scene and is quite popular. Everything I've ordered there from the burger to the chicken sandwich to the Louisiana Pasta has been very very good. There service is also very good. Let's face it, the folks at Great American really know restaurants and what their customers want. I typically go with one of their two standard burger selections and have never been disappointed. The only hangup with Mike's is the parking situation, and as long as the shopping center across the way doesn't start towing (like McDonald's, which is explicitly mentioned at the hostess stand) then it isn't too much of a hassle.

“Great evening!”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

On a Wednesday evening, Mike's American Grill was crowded but not packed. We waited about 30 min for a table for 4 (will definitely call ahead next time). Waited in the bar, service was great, and the wait didn't feel long. The food was outstanding - especially the filet and roast beef. Kids' meal prices are terrific ($5-$7). The crab cake appetizer was delicious. The crowd was all kids - young and old, not too loud, but fun. The desserts were great, too (molten chocolate waffle and apple pie). Easy to get to. We'll be back for sure!

“Make a Reservation, even on Monday”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Food is great, service is great, bar is great, lines are long, did I mention the food is great. The servers are very professional, they can get busy and kinda forget you sometimes. Bathroom is not easy to get to from the 2nd floor, it is in the basement.

“good food, limited menu, hard to park”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

I saw one of the recent reviews and that just summed it up. Had lunch here yesterday after not having eaten at Mike's for 10+ years (I live in Northern Virginia but not near Springfield). Food was actually pretty good and reasonably priced. Waiter was accommodating when I asked for Bleu cheese substitution on the Cheddar cheeseburger. I was somewhat taken aback by the limited menu to the point that I was trying to find another page to the menu. Regardless, it had the basics and what we ordered was good. The waiter did spill an iced tea on the arm of one of our party but the manager was right there with his card and an offer to have the suit cleaned. Was not a disaster.

Beware the parking. VERY limited parking on the restaurant grounds. No signs for alternative parking (that we saw) but there is parking at a strip mall across the street. Again, as the reviewer noted, you must cross a VERY busy street with no lights or crosswalk.

“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Mike's crab corn chowder is excellent. We had the salmon salad and Mike's salad. Both were excellent. For desert we shared a white chocolate bread puddling-WOW. Very interesting building too.
