We enjoyed a great stay at Hopkins Ordinary! After a long day of hiking, Sherri and Kevin -- perfect hosts -- greeted us with cold glasses of water and chilled wine. We stayed in the Oregano room on the second floor. Bathroom & bedroom were both spotless. As a person with allergies and asthma I often worry about staying in older buildings, but it was not a concern here. You can tell Sherri and Kevin put a lot of time and energy into restoring the home. Great view of main street from our porch. Very quiet and peaceful night of sleep. Breakfast the next morning consisted of coffee, juice, fresh fruit, french toast, and bacon. YUM! It was hard to leave, but we'll be back.

Sherri and Kevin, the proprietors of Hopkins Ordinary and passionate about providing the highest quality service, breakfasts and a lovely room. This was my second time staying here and if you were wondering whether this is your place...wonder no more. It is, and when I'm in this area of the country, there are no questions to be asked...I know exactly where I'm headed. Hopkins Ordinary.

Room Tip: they are all good, not to fret.

We were in Sperryville for a wedding and had a total of five people and two dogs in our party. Our hosts, Kevin and Sherri, could not have been more accommodating. From the welcome greeting, complete with wine and home-brewed beer, to the final breakfast, made with home-made preserves and goat cheese, we could not have asked for a better experience. The Hopkins Ordinary is far from ordinary - but in all the best ways! There is nothing like waking up in the morning and smelling the lovely herb beds in the garden. I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: The Garden Cottage is great for groups, but the regular rooms also look lovely.

Kevin and Sherri are kind and attentive innkeepers and we were left with the impression that they love what they do. Their beautiful B&B is on Main Street in Sperryville and we found it to be a great place to stay after a long hike up Old Rag Mountain. Despite being on the main drag, HO was quiet and provided a nice escape. The bathroom looked new and the room itself was comfy.

They had great cookies for a snack on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday was very good (Great Scones and Coffee, the egg frittata's were also very good, especially the one with salmon and homemade goat cheese. The only thing that would have made breakfast better is bacon (because bacon makes everything better) :)

This seriously was a great visit and venue to recharge life's batteries.

Room Tip: The Rosemary room suited us well. It was on the cool side of the house and it had its own private p...

The hosts went out of their way to make us comfortable. The home-brewed beer was delicious, and the room was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a great over night getaway at this inn. Lovely, un-fussy renovated room and bathroom in a completely restored, almost 200 year old building ---- best of old and new. The full, hot breakfast was delicious. The inn keepers were very helpful at suggesting great hiking trails nearby and printing out directions for us.

Room Tip: Rooms on back are quieter.

This lovely B&B on the National Register of Historic Places is located in the picturesque village of Sperryville VA. The rooms are beautifully furnished, very comfortable and spotless. I love the great beds, especially after a day of hiking. Guests enjoy an amazing hot breakfast which includes egg and (if you like) meat dishes, fresh baked breads and fresh fruits. Afterwards, we like to head for the nearby trails in the National Park, a few miles away. The owners are very helpful in providing information about the best hikes according to your ability and time table. There are excellent restaurants for dinner, either in Sperryville or in nearby villages. Other guests have enjoyed wine tasting, antique shopping or biking in the beautiful countryside. A visit to Hopkins is the perfect way to get away from city or suburban craziness and really relax. And, important to me, it is an easy drive to get there.
