My family of four including our dog stayed from Friday to Monday for our family reunion. I have to admit I was a little leary about staying in a hotel that allows dogs but I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room. Besides the room being a little narrow, it was well kept and showed no signs of prior four legged visitors. There is a small gym at the end of the second floor near the elevator and a small pool. The women who clean the rooms are very accomodating. We asked that our room not be made one day because we were leaving the dog. They politely left towels and took out the garbarge.

The complimentary breakfast is superb. Its not the regular coffee, donuts and bagels. Its scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, bread for toast, bisuits, cereal, juice, coffee, tea, cappuccino and waffles you make fresh in the waffle maker. The lady who keeps everything clean and replenished is very nice and should be commended for doing a wonderful job.

While this is not the Four Seasons it is a very comfortable hotel and I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Get a room in the middle of the second floor, halfway between the elevator and the glass doors that...

Arrived at 9PM with a confirmed prepaid reservation. They gave our room to a person who paid a higher price earlier in the night at the Best Western website versus our web price that we paid for weeks in advance. Even when speaking to Best Western Corporate that night, they said that they didn't have to honor our rate since we did it thru Orbitz and had a cheaper rate. Never in 56 years was I treated so rudely and told to go to the Quality Inn up the street since they had rooms.

overall a nice clean hotel with usual breakfast choices
bedding was comfortable
bathroom was clean
but the floor carpet needed some shampoo-ing
big issue i had was with THIN WALLS
you can practically hear next room's conversation
so if you are looking for a quiet room/night, this place won't be it for you

This was a good, no frills, stop for an overnight stay while traveling. There are two other hotels within walking distance (Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn), and the front desk clerk was able to give me the best rate of the three. The hotel was a Holiday Inn Express until it went under new management in 2010 and became a Best Western. The breakfast area was nice and well managed. Hotel is just next to the I-85 on-ramp, and a short drive to lots of restaurants.

The folks at the Best Western South Hill Inn are the tops when it comes to their field. I've stayed with Best Western a lot over the years in other places, and that's what mainly led me to this one. A friend of mine and I had been traveling home after the yearly meeting of our internet forum group, and traffic on I-295 further up in Virginia had made us extremely late on schedule. Our GPS was putting us at after 1AM arriving home...and we just gave up at that point. Hearing from the GPS that there was a Best Western in the area, I tried for it...and was pleasantly surprised even for this great brand!

The lady at the front desk recognized us as weary, desperate travelers I suppose, and gave us the best rate she could possibly give, saving our wallets a painful hit. Even the lobby was clean, beautifully appointed and very sleek. The room was awesome, the beds comfortable, and the sheets and pillows newly cleaned, laundered, and fresh. Breakfast the following morning at the lobby's morning meal was incredibly good, and we were able to refuel before striking out for home, following a much needed and pleasant night's sleep. Kudos to these folks for keeping a classy, quality establishment. Would recommend with Five Stars.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my two Teenagers for a baseball tournament in town. I was expecting the typical hotel we stay in during these tournaments but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was wonderful from the time I walked through the door until we checked out 4 days later. They gave the entire baseball team flexibility in checking out at the last minute as our tournament depended on the teams winning to stay in it.
The breakfast room was neat and clean and the wonderful woman who manages the breakfast area ( sorry, I forgot her name) was friendly, helpful and went out of her way to please.
The cleaning staff was meticulous and the rooms had been recently renovated with new mattresse, furniture and flat screen TV's.
They gave us a group discount which made the price very reasonable and even allowed us to use the breakfast area for a group pizza party one evening.
They let the boys swim one evening after a late game even though the pool was supposed to close.
I cannot say enough about this place, from the cleanliness to the wonderful staff.
I assure you, if you stay here, you will not be disappointed.
