Beautiful church and cemetery. Very nice and informative guide...
Was certainly worth the $5 fee - which goes to the upkeep of this lovely church..

Thank bandit

My partner and I took "the long way home" and stopped through Smithfield, VA after a weekend trip to VA Beach. We saw St. Luke's Church advertised as a place to visit and decided to check it out. We arrived just 10 minutes before closing (unbeknown to us) and they didn't skip a beat in offering to stay late so that we could tour the church and grounds.

The church is steeped in history, with incredible stained glass pieces from the late 1800's. My favorite part of the tour was the up close and personal view of the early 1800's organ, still in playing condition. This was a beautiful place to stop and all of the money from the tour goes directly to the upkeep of this historic beauty.
